Nobby's Gnomies... heading to WDW in April 2010

I love me some ramen noodles! We'd eat that all the time NOW if it were up to me!

And DVC is def. on my list but not for a while. Here's my priorities:

1. New House.
2. Debt free except for house/cars.
3. New convertible.
4. DVC

Cracking up over the new convertible! :lmao:

Chefs was so yummy. I really loved it. I can't wait to go back!

I think it is going on the short list of potential restaurants for the next trip.

I love me some Ramen noodles HHMMMMM Yummy...WOOT!!! (I love that word its my catch phrase LOL)

Awww...LL I'm sorry you couldn't get to sleep last night that is no good...no good at all...hopefully it will be a slow day at work!

We too are another couple looking into DVC, we on the other hand are going to try and find a really good resale (Like C is doing)...we've been saving since January LOL (Of course Prince PHillip says he's using the points and going to Alaska or Hawaii LOL, I'm sure fishing or hunting will be involved LOL) :rotfl2:

I want to buy DVC and then buy a small resale for WL. :rotfl2: I've got it all figured out. :rotfl:

We could all be DVC neighbors! :thumbsup2

What's so funny about my convertible!?

Seriously though, I will probably have 1,2, and 3 done by December. Then.... on to DVC!

I want to buy @ Hilton Head or Vero Beach so DH doesn't accuse me of Disneyfying our lives forever. Then I'll just book elsewhere. ::yes::

But now I'm gonna browse Cars.com because I really do want a new convertible.

:hug:Hello Soleil!!!! :hug:How are you and how is your planning coming along!!!! I'm having a great summer now that I'm home YAY!!

Hi Soleil! :wave2: I haven't caught up w/your TR since your little Belle went to Disney On Ice. I will have to catch up over my vacation!

Yup, LL- 4 days! What I'm REALLY excited about though is that after tommorow, I don't go back to work until July 13th. :cloud9: love it!

I'm still nervous about spending the week w/the in-laws but oh well. I'm sure I'll have fun w/DH anyway.....;)

Happy Tuesday Gnomies!

I am taking a break from cleaning as I am sweating up a storm!! It's gross! But it's my day off and it's raining and I'm having a little pre-Canada-Day party (tomorrow is Canada Day!) tonight so I figured I should tidy up a little! I couldn't have the party on Canada Day since I have to go see Johnny Depp that night or Lauren will kill me!:rolleyes1

BellaSoleil - Hi! :)

Julez - What kind of convertible is it that you want?

I hope all of you ladies are having a lovely day! CP - you have inspired me to have KD for lunch! ;)

They are having good incentives -- the monthly payment would be the lowest I have ever seen it, but I am so worried about what my paycheck is going to look like this next year when I lose extended day -- I don't want to send us into the "eating ramen noodles" sector...

:lmao: Sorry but the eating ramen noodles sector is funny, not that I want you to do that but you know. :rotfl2:

I have to wait at least two more years for DVC but I know I will get it. I shudder to think what Marc will want in return. :rotfl2:

I waited 2 years from the time I decided DVC was for me...til I bought in. It was hard to wait, but I'm glad we did:goodvibes I was putting 'back' into a special account what I guessed the payment would be for about a year...so I knew when I bought in I was already used to the payment...plus have a couple month cushion in the account in case of an emergency:thumbsup2

Hope you are all having a great summer!

Hi Soleil!!!

Good news today gnomies!! The tree guy came today to look at our trees! I do NOT want a repeat of last winters tree incident:eek: We decided we wanted to have 3 removed.... and the other 6 'topped' The electric company came thru here 2-3 years ago and cut our trees away from the lines. As a result, they basically cut our trees in half vertically:scared1: Now these are 70 foot maple trees....now with all the weight on the side toward our house.

So any guesses on what this project will rack me???

anyone????

$850!! I can't believe it! I was expecting $3K!! :woohoo: now granted that doesn't include the stump removal.... but regardless... it will be WAY less than I anticipated!!

yay!!

All this and I get to go to WDW in 89 days!!

Speaking of which... I'm trying to figure out ADRs for the trip with the kids in November. I have 7 TS credits. right now the 'short list' looks like this.....

Chef Mickey's (probably dinner)
Le Cellier (if we can get it)/Biergarten or Garden Grill if we can't
Tusker House (bfst on our last day)
WCC
50's Prime Time

So that leaves 2 more I'll need 1 for our 'down day'/MVMCP day and 1 for our 'bonus day' (the full day left over after 4 single park days and 1 MVMCP day) that I have no idea where we will go/be yet....but with kids i'm expecting splitting DHS and MK probably.... what do you gnomies suggest???

Paula

What about Tony's or LTT for you MVMCP day?

YAHOO for the tree removal! I am so glad you are having that taken care of! It was stressful for me reading about it so I can't imagine how it was for you!

Or you could try the Plaza...it would be a quick TS for the party day!!!

I'm so happy to hear you are going to get those trees down and it won't cost an arm and a leg!! That is great news!!!!

wow Paula! When we had 1/2 a tree come down on our house a few years ago, I think they charged something like $1400 just to remove the 1/2 that was not even standing anymore (now granted, they had to work around a busted roof too) then our stupid insurance company wouldn't pay to have the other 1/2 removed. Like your trimmed trees, it was cut in 1/2 vertically, except leaning toward the neighbors house. Greg and the neighbor worked together to take the other 1/2 down before the wind did.

I would add Crystal Palace or Ohana to the ADR list.

Morning!

Warning...husband vent ahead! So last August I was hired for my current job, the largest portion of which is directing summer camps. In January we confirmed the dates for camp as the first 2 full weeks of July. In April, Greg and I discussed him doing summer school in the mornings of June. I clarified with him that is would work out as long as it didn't run over into July (in the end, it's going until the end of this week but we can still make that work). At the end of school, I made our summer calendar with all the boys activities and highlighted the weeks of Greg's summer school and my camp weeks. Being in charge, I obviously need to be there every day, all day these 2 weeks, no exceptions!

So yesterday Greg got a phone call from the head girls basketball coach. Greg applied for this job last year and was offered an assistant position but because of my job uncertainty, he had to decline. An assistants position opened up again this year and Greg applied WAY back in May. He finally got called and offered the job yesterday and was asked for a meeting with the head coach and athletic director. So...when does my darling husband schedule this meeting? If you guessed next Monday, you would be correct! Yes my friends, that would be the first day of my summer camp! When I pointed this out to Greg, he sighed and said he was going off of the routine we have had for the last 2 1/2 weeks :sad2:

10 months have been leading up to the next 2 weeks and he forgets! On top of that, Patrick has his first day of tumbling camp on Monday morning so it's not even as simple as finding a place for the boys to go play for an hour, we need to find someone to drive Patrick to camp too. *SIGH*

Oh, Katie! That is TOTALLY something Marc would do and we don't even have kids yet. He is so famous for scheduling things when he already has commitments. It's so frustrating. I hope everything works out.

Katie---so sorry for you!!! What is it about men that they lose all sense of schedule and commitments when something they want to do comes up.....their brains go right out the window!!!!

I'm actually home....all alone right now......with no kiddos to watch....and Megs is out fishing with her grandfather. It has been so hectic and crazy around here---and overwhelmed with kiddies that have been here for playdates and babysitting---that I am actually enjoying the peace and quiet!!! I miss Megs, but I never get time to myself!!!! SO LET'S CHAT IT UP GIRLIES!!!
