I saw it this afternoon. I went in not expecting it to be Biblically accurate at all. OMG it was awful! Just an awful, awful movie. I even fell asleep.

it is a stoy that has been told since around 3000bc. The story likely did in fact describe a "global" flood or other weather event but one must remember the "world" back then (from the perspective of the Noah Myth) was restricted to the area the size of the middle east. At that time period the ENTIRE world population which includes all 7 continents was 14-27 million people. This is less than half the population of the Northeastern US. I couldnt find any data on the population of the middle east during that time but if the whole world only had around 20 million you're probably looking at a population of only a couple million in the middle east. My point is that with so few people as witness, the accuracy of such an event told over and over billions of times leaves everything to interpretation.

Seriously, the tv commercials alone should have been a big enough indicator that this movie was going to be less about The Bible and more about being a crazy Hollywood action flick loosely inspired by Noah's Ark. When I first saw the commercial, I laughed. I don't think they were misleading anybody.
