No Wishes Dessert Party after 8/28??

I just called to make reservations for a Wishes Dessert Party for October 11the the agent on the phone stated that it was only offered til 8/28. This is a bummer! Anyone have any knowledge about whether this will be continued? Maybe it's only a summer thing???

Edit to Add: Okay, just re-read Kathy's blog and see that it only runs through 8/28. Does anyone have any feelings that it may be extended??

I think it was just to provide another dining option during a busier time of the year. I am going in Oct too and the whole family wanted dessert for dinner. Still crossing my fingers that it may still get extended.

Yes that would be nice if it was extended or brought back again. I was hoping maybe it was available in early Dececmber when we are going.

I've been checking daily to see if there is any news. On another board someone speculated that they may not do them in September due to the MNSSHP's and differing times for Wishes Also that they would be using the area for another dining 'space' for all those free diners

It's a shame as I would have booked for 8 adults in late September. Hopefully they will see the demand and extend the dates, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I have a friend from work who took his family to the dessert party, he said it was wonderful. I am hoping this was a test run and they will make it permanent, I would definitely make it part of my plans

Why is that "guest demand" doesn't ever seem to work in the right direction? They get rid of the good stuff and up the prices for the not so good stuff. We were looking forward to the dessert party next month only to find out it's not available...maybe if enough people express interest they will birng it back. Here's to hoping! ~Elizabeth

Oh, at some point they'll bring it back, but at a much higher price (due to overwhelming guest demand). My guess, it'll be $22.95 when it comes back.

Heck, we would've booked for THIRTEEN adults and THREE kids in January! We're hoping too that it's going to be extended!

I read on another blog that a person had spoken with the chefs at the dessert party she attended and they suggested that it would be extended - they had ideas of how they would change up the desserts for different times of the year. Now, whether that means all the time or just at certain times of the year or they were just being hopeful???

I called Disney (before I realized there was a limited run) because I wanted to book it in September and they told me to call back closer to mid-August to find out if it was extended. I didn't get a finite "NO", so I'm staying hopeful!

My sister in law and her daugther, who is 6, will be traveling to WDW with me and my daugther, 9, in mid October. I really wanted to treat her to the dessert party as a way of saying thanks for coming along. Usually, it's just me and my daughter and while that is always a ton of fun, it will be so nice to hang out with another adult while visiting the World. She's a really fun lady too and I expect it will be an amazing vacation!

We did a walk-up booking last week, and the manager that did it said they were going to extend until at least December. Whether or not the Central Reservations folks are on the same page is another story. Good luck either way, it's certainly worth it!

The Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station will NOT be continued into the Fall. Due to the Free Dining Promo this fall/winter (September 27, 2009 - December 17, 2009) they have added a dinner buffet at Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe'. I looked online and it looks like they have done this in the past.

Presently, these are the only dates listed for the Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe' (as reported by wdwinfo.com): 8/16, 8/23, 8/30, 9/6, 9/13, 9/20, 9/27/09. 5:30 - 9:00 PM

I'd really love to see this become a regluar thing. We were thinking about doing it during our trip in September, but it looks like we'll just have to play it by ear.

I think it would be a really smart move on their part to keep this as a running thing, as people are always looking for ways to find a good spot for events like fireworks, and people are always looking for "special" things to do on their vacation.

Should we start a running petition "keep the wishes dessert party alive" ?????

There seems to be some controversy on the Restaurant Board, over the last night it is offered. Myself and other Disers are booked with confirmation numbers, and have been charged, for 8/29. Due to the controversy on the Boards, we called to double check our reservation and were told yes it is running through the 29th. So, unless they cancel it at the last minute on us, the last night as of now is 8/29.

I hope they extend the DESSERT Wishes Party through the end of the year. Personally, I'm NOT interested in the dinner buffet.
