As the title suggests after just 2 visits to WDW my boys had had enough. In order to return to Florida we would have to compromise, so a split visit between Orlando and the coast. As we couldn't get DH's annual leave authorised until mid January the flights from Manchester were a very silly price so looked at Gatwick which was a lot cheaper. Booked Gatwick Hilton with Tesco clubcard vouchers for the night before. Checked in on line at lunchtime on Saturday 24th July before jumping in the car for the drive down. Everything went OK until M25, sure you can guess the rest. We arrived about 5.30pm, grabbed the overnight stuff and went and checked in family room number 2232 overlooking the car park. Prefer the Radisson view at Manchester (obviously) but the corner room we had was massive.

Rang my sister who had just arrived home from her holidays before returning to the car to pick up the luggage to go an do Twilight bag drop, it was quite busy so took a while. Went to look for Frankie and Benny's (have to say we found it hard to find!!!) we were seated really quickly and had a lovely server who wanted to know where we were flying to "Ah going to see Mickey are you?" "er no, not this time" was our reply.

Then back to our room for relaxing bath and in the case of the boys watching TV!

Didn't go to sleep too early, flight next day not until 1pm so only had breakfast to sort out in the morning, no getting up early to drop the bags off:banana:

Great start Wendy :thumbsup2 We haven't flown from Gatwick in a long time, but we used to always have dinner at Frankie & Benny's after twilight check-in too

I look forward to reading some more ::yes::

Great report so far, cant beleive how much your boys have changed since your last report

Shame about the M25, we are going by train this time, hoping it's more relaxing!! We have booked a similar family room at the Gatwick Hilton - 1 double 2 twins, yours looks great. We have had the smaller one with the bunks before and that was fine too.:)

Fab start Wendy :goodvibes Looking forward to reading more!

A great start. We always start our holiday with a meal at Frankie and Benny's. :goodvibes

this is our plan for next year as we did not like the Hilton buffet at all, I have already read the cocktail menu and sent the link to my friend
