Claire.......we're tentatively tossing our hat into the ring! I've been whining about how I"ve been reading everyone's comments, and I was feeling so sad we weren't going on the "possible" WBTA in 2013. DH said there were other things we could do at those ports.......so we decided to keep an open mind about going. I think I wore him down....or else he wanted to shut me up....doesn't matter to me as long as we will look into it. So.....add us to the roster Claire!

On a sad note, the puppy whose picture I posted on Facebook didn't make it. At least she had a bit of comfort & kindness in her last hours. The people who did it to her are in jail. We all think they need to be *under* the jail.

Pat, sad news about the puppy......don't you just wish you could do the same to the horrible people that mistreated something so precious.

Oh, and then some!

That's sad, the world can be a very cruel place what some people can do to others and defenceless animals never ceases to disappoint !

Seriously! I will never, EVER understand the mentality that supports dog-fighting or that just ignores it. Utterly disgusting. The techs took pictures of her injuries to help the prosecutors if they take it to trial. Unfortunately all too often these people get off with a slap on the wrist.


Well, after that sad start to the day, we ended on a very positive note. A woman brought in a little shih tzu that she found wandering her neighborhood. No one seemed to know who he belonged to, and he was dirty and kind of raggedy, so she wanted to get him cleaned up. Denice (the groomer I work for) and I said we'd bathe him and clip him for free, so that if they didn't find his owner they would be able to find him a good home. (He had this really bad haircut - I said he probably ran away from whoever did that to him.) The little guy was so sweet!! He was so good through the whole bath/blow-dry/clip ordeal. I washed him, pulled off ticks, scrubbed crud out of his hair, and treated a couple of little sore spots, and he didn't complain at all! He looked adorable after Denice clipped him. He was so cute and had such a sweet personality, I'll be surprised if the woman doesn't keep him. I said he looked like a "Charlie" to me, and her son really liked that, so he has a new name to go with his new look, and a warm, safe place to sleep. In spite of all the nasty out there, it's good to know there are still people who care about the pooches.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about the puppy. I hope karma gets the people who did it.

Glad to hear that the other little one, Charlie, is being cared for.

My pets are part of the family and I can't even understand it when people don't treat them well and cherish them.

Wooooo Hooooo Debra ..... I was exactly the same .... was hoping for a Med cruise but once I saw that everyone from WBTA 2010 and 2011 were signing up for this one I had no option but to change my mind ... this cruise will be less about the ports and more about the people

Karen. They struggled when we tried to take pictures with Mickey as you cannot advertise " the beer product" with Mickey. We still got a pic with it though

The way it's going we won't need a 2013 UK TA reunion as we'll all be on board!

I supose we had better introduce ourselves to anyone who wasn't on the 2010 TA. I'm Sarah (sezmo) and I'll be travelling with my Mum - Elizabeth we're from Cheshire in the UK. We lurk more than we post but Mum reads everything then keeps me updated!
