No wbta 2013

I thought the same thing when I got the Cunard email today. I still feel DCL will say something within the next two weeks.

(and yes, I jumped ship sort of since I booked the Alaskan cruise - but I'm still reading this thread!)

I was checking out RCL and I noticed that the Oasis Class ships do not have a schedule past SEP2013. I also noticed that at the Freedom class level the Freedom of the Seas does not have a schedule past April 2013 and the Independence goes into Nov2013. The Voyager Class ships were a mixed bag with some showing cruises into Nov2013 and some only through Apr2013.

So I guess DCL isn't that different. It's just that we are all so very anxious to know and to get something booked!!!!

Just keeping the thread alive - it's so quiet lately.

And yes, I jumped ship and booked Alaska, but....there is this part of me that still is pining for the WBTA. I've been thinking that if circumstances are right....

Anyway, I'm going on the Fantasy in 17 days. IF nothing has been announced by then, I'll see if there is any scuttlebutt.

What I heard on the Fantasy is that the announcement was not expected until the end of 2012.

I ended up having to move a cruise that had been a Concierge cruise. I can still move it, but I booked Alaska in 2013. There is this part of me that is still really, really wanting that WBTA. BUT if they release it that late, it could well be too late for me to move the Alaskan cruise. And if there isn't a WBTA, I want something other than the typical Eastern/Western.

It is, of course, what I want (them to tell us soon) so with my luck they'll announce it days before... :lmao:

I have three cruises now in limbo due to the WBTA so I feel your pain!

Hm. Well.

I have to admit that on the one hand this would probably lead to me not noticing that the cruise had finally been announced and thus not going... on the other hand, booking "only" a year in advance and especially at the end of the year would be a real advantage for us.

At the end of the year we will know much better where we will be next year workwise, fianancially and with regard to family planning (I am in my early 30s... children are somewhat still an option). Also my Christmas bonus would cover most of the cost which of course would be nice (and tax return would cover the rest). Less saving during the year and lesser chance to spend the bonus on "stuff". I wouldn't have to ask for leave 18 months in advance (my boss already laughed at me when I asked for my last vacation three months in advance).

The only thing we ever booked a year in advance was our honeymoon - which then nearly had to be cancelled because I started a new job two months before the trip. Even my vacation to Turkey was only booked in January (less than three months before the trip).

But as we have nothing in limbo due to the WBTA... and no other vacation plans that we are holding off because of it... well, my only problem would probably be forgeting all about it because I have moved it to the very back of my mind and then not getting the cabin category we prefere or having to pay more. Yes, I do have horrible memory.

We are also not used to book so far in advance. The WBTA 2011 was the first time we book a year in advance. And that was more of the WDW offer that we booked all in the same time. We had to give our vacationdates at work as soon as we know, but mostly it is no more then 3 months. Now we booked the Hawaii cruise a year in advance and if this one is to book we book it immidiatly. But we can wait. It will come. And if it is not going to US but somewhere else, we will see what then. The people are more important then the itinerary this time.
And you don't forget to book. You will be remember on this thread or on the Facebook.

:surfweb: :confused3 i think I'll just focus on Hawaii..and book whenever..

Iam highly excited about going on this "mysterious WBTA" but as one of the previous posters said maybe a cruise elsewhere and not a TA i would just cry, I have had this planned for 2 years! Dream trip flying to London, train to Disneyland Paris, Fly to Barcelona/Venice and then off we go!

You can hang out here! You can even come BACK once the itinerary is announced:thumbsup2

You've GOT to be kidding, right? Only 9 months to obsess?

Yes, me too. THat's why I have a travel agent. She remembers for me!

I can relate to that. I SO want to take my husband to Europe!

IF they announce a WBTA, pretty reasonable chance I would come back. ;)

It's the trying to dig through all the rumors that is driving me nuts. :scared1: There are rumors that Disney will announce their Adventures by Disney offerings in May, rather than the usual August or so. It's been said they want to do more of the ABD cruise add-ons.

Which would work with many of the already announced 2013 Med offerings. BUT since they (ABD) are doing some more exotic offerings like Asia, Cambodia, Viet Nam, it makes me wonder if they'd keep the Magic away from the US and do more exotic cruises.

My mind goes nuts - because I CAN see the reasoning in that. They aren't quite filling the new ships as well as they'd thought. So, bringing the Magic back to the US might not be feasible.

But then I wonder...is DCL really in a position to fill such exotic cruises?

Again...I just wish they'd put us out of our misery and let us know - sooner rather than later....

Well you can do all that, because the ship is in Europe. But we don't know where it will go. So we wait to see what the destiny is after drydock. I prefer Port Canaveral because of WDW, but another end of the cruise will be also good. I only hope to see the people back that's the main thing.
The ports still booked (Gibraltar, Funchal (tba) and St Maarten)

Sorry if this has already been posted, and not that it is necessarily info worth a hill of beans, but the port of Gibraltar has the Magic scheduled to port there on 10-14-13 and St Maarten has her there 10-22-13.

That's the only reason why I still hope that the WBTA will happen ;)
