No Villas for early December?

Although it is a popular time for DVC reservations, I'm pretty sure it's a fairly slow time still in the parks themselves. So Disney probably wouldn't want to do anything to discourage bookings at that time. I guess what I'm saying is that it's a member issue, not a Disney issue. Not sure what benefit Disney would have in reallocating the points unless they can help drive reservations in another slow season by lowering the points then.
DVC would be the entity doing the reallocating, and probably not have that much to do with the crowds at the parks, but more to do with the crowds at the resorts.

I missed that part about needing a DEDICATED 2 bedroom! That definitely would mean a very limited and popular inventory at BCV.

The OP never said that she/he was looking for a dedicated. So all of the 2BR's would have been in play at 11 months. And anyway, at 7 months all of them from OKW and SSR would have too.

And that last fact really had me flabbergasted! It just doesn't seem like all the on site 2 bedrooms would be booked before the 7 month window. That's a LOT of 2 bedrooms!

When I tried making ressies for the first week in Dec (about 9-10 mos out), the MS person I was dealing with was floored that nothing was available at ANY of the DVC resorts. I got my second choice (the 2nd week) without a problem. She just couldn't believe that NO type of unit at ANY resort was available the nights I wanted (not that I could have booked any but my home resort anyway). I expect the 11 mo window to become more and more important for this time period.

I was able to get 2 2 bedrooms at OKW for Dec. 3-9 EXACTLY at the 7 month window and that was the only resort that had 2 bedrooms.....
BW, BC, WL were completely booked with all types of rooms SSR only had studios but only from 3-9 and OKW only had 2 bedrooms....
so OKW was the only resort............ :lmao:
it is a family trip and had to wait so we both could book at the same time.. OKW was not my first choice but we wnated the same resort so it worked out..
next time it is every person for them self and book before the 7 month at your home resort.... :bounce:

Wow! We are going the week before (2 BR dedicated at SSR- November 24 to Dec. 3) and booked just last week. We did not get our first choice but we did have choices for the entire stay (SSR, OKW or a couple of moves). We picked SSR and waitlisted at BWV. Feeling very lucky right now! Good luck!

The first week of December is arguably the most popular week of the "early December season".

In addition to the annual meetings, several large internet groups arrange meets that week (Mousefest), Pop Warner holds its annual football & cheer leading championships, all of the Holiday activities are in full swing. More people are looking to rent points for this time period and are willing to commit 12-13 months in advance to get VWL, BCV or BWV.

I'm not at all surprised that the dedicated 2 bedrooms at BCV were all gone (especially if the OP wanted one with two queens in the second bedroom) even if the OP did call at his/her 11 month window. I call day by day to get my standard view at the BWV and it's my belief that many members call day by day for this time at VWL, BCV or BWV. That said, this is the first year that availability was so tight so early in the booking period. I think the 50th celebration, the DP and ME perks have all contributed.

Best wishes -

and 300,000 is alot of members. I can definitely see where it could happen.

I made the mistake of waiting until 11 months before checkout date to call for 2 - 1 bedroom BW view rooms for Dec. 3 - 10. I got one room and am STILL waitlisted for 2 days for the second room ressie. Interestingly I was able to book a standard view 1 bedroom for those dates. I learned my lesson: day-by-day ressies next year for that week.
Maybe others are like me: I do the Thanksgiving and Christmas family gatherings at my house, so I don't want to go to WDW until after Thanksgiving weekend and I have too much to do right before Christmas. The first week of Dec. is the easiest time for me to enjoy the holiday stuff at WDW and still be home when I need to be.
