No value rooms in Kidani

I just booked our first stay at AKV. We're excited, but a bit disappointed that the value rooms are in Jambo only - we really wanted to stay in Kidani, but we don't have the points (or rather we chose not to use the extra points for that so we can stay longer). Wanted to let people know for planning purposes.

It's a pretty well know fact. The Value rooms are smaller odd shaped rooms left over when they converted the AKL rooms to the DVC floor plans.

Since Kidani was built to DVC specs and not converted, Value rooms don't exist.

As disneynutz said, the DVC rooms in Jambo House are converted 5th and 6th floor AKL hotel rooms. Most of those rooms were the larger "deluxe" rooms but the ones along the front hallways (Ostrich and Giraffe Trails) were "standard" size rooms which are the same size as the lower floor rooms at AKL but about 3 feet shorter than the "deluxe" rooms. When they converted those smaller rooms to DVC rooms, the resulting villas are smaller and cannot accommodate as many guests since they cannot put a sleeper chair in those rooms. The special Value booking category was created just for that handful of smaller rooms. As disneynutz said, since Kidani was new construction rather than a conversion, they didn't have any such issues to contend with there and were able to make all of the villas the same size.
