We spent 7 nights at the VWL last week. On the 4th day, as scheduled and on my confirmation, I expected trash & towel service.

We got a knock on the door. I opened it, Mousekeeping was there, I told her we would be leaving shortly. She replied "no, no...towels only, do you need any?" I had just washed a load, so I said I was set right now. She left and we never saw them again. My IL's were there as well and did get T&T service. I found it odd.....

Has this happened to anyone else?

Nope. We have received a general cleaning on the day we were scheduled for just the T&T service.

It sounds like when you said you were "all set", she took it to mean you didn't want any service.

During our only DVC stay (so far) at SSR, we were scheduled to have trash and towel service on day 4 (out of 5 days). The housekeeper was very nice...and changed the linens too. I was not expecting that, but noticed bed linens in all of the baskets outside the doors at SSR. She straightened up, wiped down the bathroom and vacuumed as well.

It was close to 5pm...so maybe she was trying to do something nice since it was so late?

Yes, but when I initially said "We're leaving in a moment" assuming she was coming in. She said "No, no, towels only"

So I told her I had washed the towels, but I assumed I would still get the trash svc etc.

Maybe one housekeeper brings the towels and another does the rest of it. Perhaps she thought everything else was done. Everytime we have had T&T they have left towels, soaps and taken out the trash. Once they even ran the dishwasher.

We also have had a full cleaning when we were expecting trash and towel. In fact, once we had T&T two days in a row! LOL, not sure how that happened.

That's the same way I would have interpreted it.

It sounds like English was not her native language. These type of communication difficulties occur sometimes in those cases. It sounds as if when you said you were leaving she thought you were expecting a full cleaning.

I would agree that there was a miscommunication here. The way you are explaining it - I'm assuming she was just trying to tell you she was only going to do the towels (thinking that maybe you wanted her to come back after you left????) and then you said you already washed them so were all set.

Anyway - when I first read your post, that's what I thought.
