We LOVE Boma. We schedule a breakfast AND a dinner here every trip and request multiple recipes each time.
There are traditional items (bacon, eggs, fruit, pancakes, pastries, etc. ) at breakfast *as well as* delicious cured pork loin, bobotie and other African specialties. The "frunch" a tropical fruit and lemonade drink, is fabulous.
At dinner, there are varying choices, but there is always a nice pork and beef selection at the carving station and usually many other items as well. The soups, salads and desserts are even better! There are so many soup selections and each is better than the last - creamy carrot, seafood with couscous stew, etc. The chocolate mousse crunch is worth the trip alone!
The food quality and value are worth it. It's better IMO to go earlier or later because esp. at dinner, it can be a little noisy - it's a large "African Marketplace" atmosphere and there are tons of kids. We like a nice window seat in the back corners since we don't mind the longer trip up to the buffet, in exchange for being able to hear each other talk!
The BEST part about Boma is that they are THE most accomodating place when it comes to special requests. I've seen people get fish and rice for breakfast, vegetarian stir fries, peanut free desserts, deep fried oreos, etc. all by special request - in real life and on the DIS.
To me, it is a must try unless you are strictly a meat and potatoes, no spices, plain food person.
