Got a little surprise while paying for afternoon tea today at the G.F. Our server told us as of a couple of weeks ago they stopped accepting T.I.W. while also raising the prices. And of course we know the cost to purchase T.I.W. just rose by $50. We ordered the extra fancy cheeses and Champagne which we might not have had we known about the discount being discontinued.

wow, good to know. I was there the last week in Sept. and they took mine. Wonder if you can get the AP discount? Not as good as the TIW but a discount is a discount.

I decided not to book a reservation for the afternoon tea because of the price increases and revised discount policy. Although it is a nice experience, with tax and tip, the least expensive tea for two is $75, which includes only one pot.

We take our tea and dessert in the Grand Floridian Cafe and are more than pleased with the experience.

Was there for Tea the week of the 20th September and T.I.W. was accepted then as well. I'm really getting fed up with all these last minute announcements for things they have planned in advance. My daughter really enjoyed herself. She thought it was her very own personal tea party and who was I to tell her different? Saved myself over $400.00 taking her to Afternoon Tea:teeth:

PS. she is only 3... and didn't realize what she was missing with the My Perfectly Princess Tea Party:scared:

I have been doing the Afternoon Tea for my annual solo December trip since 2008. Increasing price and decreasing quality made me decide not to do it this year, but I still am gonna miss it. But, more miss the way it was, not the way it is.

I stopped going (after many times) when they stopped having a la carte

I have mean wanting to tell you that I love and appreciate all the food pictures you have been submitting. I just didn't want to interrupt that thread. Thanks so much!

Even without the discount and with the higher prices I'll most likely continue to go. I enjoy the alone time and it reminds me of when I was a little girl. Mama and I would play grown up by having tea and cookies in a room the boys (5 brothers) weren't allowed to come in to. We would even dress up for it.

I do like taking food pictures....I stopped for a couple of trips, but hope to get back to it.

Wow, thanks for the head's up! Have this booked for my daughter and myself this December because it is her birthday. We went once before in 2011 and while she was too young to really appreciate it then, she says now that she would get waaaay more out of it now. I remember the food being not to my liking at all (not really fresh tasting and not great quality) but I was willing to give it another shot for the experience. You just helped me make up my mind to cancel it!

Our bill with tax and gratuity came to $135. for two which we wouldn't do again. But I guess the $30. (each) offering might interest us in re-visiting again sometime.

As much as I like tea, these prices are really out of proportion. I like to use Disney Rewards dollars for events like this and tours. Makes me feel like I'm not spending my own money :)

I have this booked in Nov, what is offered?

This was the Menu the week of the 20th Sept 2015. Not sure if it is still accurate though... since Disney likes to change menus and prices overnight..:rolleyes1

Me, too I always loved it. But, to have to pick a tea package that contained things I did not want and the price increase. I really did like it.

I went in October with a friend and loved it. We did the Derbyshire tea and everything was delicious and fresh. Great service too.

We go every year. This time we went in early September and thought they had brought it back to more of what it used to be in terms of value. I think all 7 people did the Bedfordshire $30 pp tea. We thought that although the price was a little higher than before, that we got more than we used to get at the lower price. It is too bad about the TIW not being accepted. We used it there last year for a large party and I think that one discount almost paid for the TIW card, (at the old price). Just one more reason not to buy the TIW card anymore. Like just about everything else at Disney, that card has gone the route of more money for less value.

I'm glad to see this menu. The $30.00 choice is not too bad. I thought the cheapest option was $50.00, and that definitely took it off my list.

Does anyone know what the current tea sandwiches are?

My son and husband object to boys not being allowed to have tea!

Anyway, there are other places for Tea in Orlando. I believe the Waldorf Astoria has a really good one.

Only on Sunday, though.
