No souvenier Luggage Tag

We got tags, but only one of the clear loop thing that comes with it to attach it to the luggage! The other three tags got no loop! Weird.

We got 6 bands, 6 luggage tags and only 4 of the clear straps to attach. Maybe the person packing that day didn't know how to count

They actually made them loads better. Almost makes me sorry I got an AP and no longer book a package.

They are nothing compared to the ones you get if you book at a Disneyland resort. Those are still the really nice thick rubber ones. We love them! I almost cried when we had one that the airport ripped off a suitcase and lost somewhere in transit! I guess since they only have 3 resorts and a lot less people to send them to they can still do the really nice ones. I hope it doesn't change!

Yes. These are only for those who book packages. DVC points-reservations aren't packages.

Well that just sucks for those of us who are travelling from Canada. DD got the yellow tags for their luggage for Magical Express, but not the other style. We're in Canada, so magic bands don't ship to us, we pick up at the resort.

What good are the luggage tags once you arrive?

I feel you! I'm in the UK, and we don't even get Magical Express tags. I'm hoping we get the new ones on arrival (we've got a package booked, but it's not a MYW package as those aren't what they sell in the UK) because I LOVE Donald and I really want one of those tags (my husband is being made to get a blue band so I can have a Donald tag from him, if we're included in the offer!)

I was bummed thinking we didn't get them because we just planned our trip a few weeks ago and my magic bands are here sitting on my counter and I just walked over and lifted them out and lo and behold there they are!!! I wanted the new looking ones so bad too!! So happy

We've gone to DLR every year for the last 6 years and we have gotten them every year. They have a different theme about each year. We have World of Color ones from when it came out. That is one of the ones the airport lost. For our trip last July we got 60th anniversary ones that have Mickey and Minnie on them and are adorable. I'm surprised you did not get them. They came in the packet with all of our travel documents. Did you get the coupon for the lanyard and pin that you can pick up when you get there? We love those every year too.

Nope, we didn't get that either. And yes, I did book directly with Disney. We didn't get any travel documents from Disney in relation to the trip at all.

We have a reservation for 5 nights hotel, park hopper tickets, MVMCP tickets, and 5 ADRs, but park hoppers were booked separately so no package. I'd think that we are shelling out enough money to Disney to qualify for 2 cheap luggage tags, but apparently not. No package, no tags. Whatever.

I also almost missed my tags for my recent trip, but my fellow DISers helped me out!

Those clear plastic straps are terrible anyway, for those worried about not getting enough. I use a little black hair band thing to attach mine and it never falls off.

Just thought I would point out those who thought this was Disney cutting another thing when they were missing. It isn't Disney who provides the luggage tags. They are a cross promotion with American Tourister Luggage. They sponsor and provide the tags in the hopes you will check them out and buy luggage. If they ever go away it is because American Tourister dropped their sponsership.

@AngiTN That is a shame you didn't get your DL stuff. Their tags are adorable (this year are DL 60th specific) plus you get a free lanyard and pin with their packages. Both DL trips in the last two years we have gotten luggage tags and pins.

I got our magical express tags in the mail a few weeks ago and didn't receive any of the souvenier luggage tags that they usually give us. i was disappointed. did anyone else not receive them this year?

Just be glad you have your yellow luggage tags! We got our magic bands and keepsake tags, buy they missed sending our luggage tags. Our TA has called them and they will send them out asap. We leave in 1 1/2 weeks, so close call. Disney is trying this new way of doing this and is working out the tweaks!

DME tags have been sent out separately from the package stuff. Only the luggage tags for packages are new.


Luggage tags for DL...that's got to be specific for how the package was being booked. The one package we did was through costco and we got nothing special. Who did you, the ones who got them, book through?


As for Canada, I would never use souvenir luggage tags as luggage tags. I wouldn't trust that they would make it through flights!

Wow, thanks for the thread! First time onsite and didn't know about the tags. Just checked our magic band box, and there it was! They are really cute.

I plan to ask for some when we check in!!! I have a few hanging in my office already!!! My office is a Disney shrine and I think Disney should pay me for the advertisements. hee hee Hopefully one day I can get a Just Married button to complete my button collection.

We booked straight through Disney both times. Room and tickets at the exact same time and the booking said it would include "magical specials".
