No souvenier Luggage Tag

DME tags have been sent out separately from the package stuff. Only the luggage tags for packages are new.

Luggage tags for DL...that's got to be specific for how the package was being booked. The one package we did was through costco and we got nothing special. Who did you, the ones who got them, book through?

As for Canada, I would never use souvenir luggage tags as luggage tags. I wouldn't trust that they would make it through flights!

We always book through a certified Disney TA, so I thought all the tags were sent to only those who booked packages with a Disney TA??

We booked straight through Disney both times. Room and tickets at the exact same time and the booking said it would include "magical specials".

If that's so for the others who got the DL tags, it must be something WDTC does that, at least, Costco doesn't.

The luggage tags for WDW? It's not just through a TA; you can book a package by calling WDW itself and get the package stuff. I believe their business division that does the packages calls itself a travel agency, but it's still just Disney. The new thing is that the luggage tags "match" the MBs; they aren't the same for all like they used to be.

If you always use a separate TA (not Disney), it's possible your TA has things sent to her and then she sends them on to you together. For those who book directly with Disney, with a package, they would get their souvenir luggage tags separately from their DME yellow tags. And now the souvenir tags are coming with the MBs, which shouldn't be getting sent on to the TA at all, so you would definitely be expecting the yellow tags separately. (honestly I'd wonder if the TA had set up DME at all, since they aren't to you at this late date...)

We are going next month and did a split stay so had package with tickets for the entire stay and first resort on first ressie and then a room only for second ressie at the second resort and got luggage tags with both sets of MBs. Prior to that I had gotten 2 separate mailings containing coupons for both ressies.

bummer - we have a room only (we have APs) for January - I was hoping we'd get luggage tags! Now I know that we probably shouldn't but I'm going to keep my fingers crossed (and look under the MB) just in case!

I have trip booked for later this month. I got my magic bands two days ago, no souvenir luggage tags were in my box. I got the Magical Express bag tags about a week before the magic bands. Unless the luggage tags come in a third package I don't expect I'll get any.

So glad to have read the thread. Was a bit disappointed thinking the tags didn't come for my Columbus Day weekend trip. Opened the box today to find there they are. They'll be saved for next time.

Did you look under the bands? They are in an envelope that looks like it could be an advertisement but if you pick it up it is an envelope with tags inside.

I booked the package but our 5 year old didn't get her luggage tag. I know it's a small thing but disappointed they left her out. I gave her mine but it doesn't match her band:(

Yes I did...as I said, they were not there.

Well that just sucks for those of us who are travelling from Canada. DD got the yellow tags for their luggage for Magical Express, but not the other style. We're in Canada, so magic bands don't ship to us, we pick up at the resort.

What good are the luggage tags once you arrive? :)

I was hoping that they might still send the tags to Canadian customers with the travel documents like they always have. Does anyone know for sure if they have stopped doing this for us?

DD is there as we speak - landed Oct. 31st.

All she got was the yellow Magical Express tags for her luggage. None of the decorative ones were in the package.

Not all packages qualify and not all travel providers qualify so it depends on how you booked. In the white booklet your Magical Express tags came in the front page will list exactly which extras you were eligible for. We booked what we thought was direct with a runDisney discount but found out runDisney and special event bookings are not considered MYW packages. Ours is a "sports MYW package" which makes it ineligible for some discounts and the luggage tags.

But the tags are an entitlement only with a package. You don't have a package. I know its a little thing, but why would you ask for something you aren't entitled to?
Seriously? You are joking right?

The luggage tags are approximately $.01 worth of plastic.

Why do guests ask for- and receive- FREE birthday pins if they arrive the day AFTER their birthday? Or the weekend AFTER they celebrate a 50th anniversary?

Often when we check in at a WDW hotel we are given some sort of tiny free item. We've been given: balloons, flowers, toys, coloring pages, free beverages, candy, generic "celebration" buttons (because EVERYONE who visits WDW is celebrating SOMETHING, we were told!), and even a few free room upgrades!

:flower:Once upon a time, WDW actually did stuff like this on a regular basis! CM's were nice like that.

The poster didn't say DEMAND- they said ASK.

Well, darn. I declined my MBs for my upcoming trip because I already had a bunch of them. Looks like I won't be getting new luggage tags this trip.

Me too! I was really looking forward to the luggage tags and now I got nothing. I already have all the colors plus an extra grey one. Pretty soon I will need an whole drawer in my dresser for these magic bands!

No, not joking. I don't care what the cost of something is. Buttons are available to any guest simply for the asking. The freebies you mentioned are intended for all guests of the resort. They aren't required to qualify for it. IMO Luggage tags are no different than any of the other giveaways within the packages. You only get them if you have a package. Which is why I wouldn't feel that it would be right to ask for one if I didn't have a package. To each their own.

Bummer. The kids like to collect them on their travel backpacks. Maybe they'll be in the box with our magic bands.

Seriously?

Luggage tags are ads. Disney MAKES money off every guests who actually uses the tags, not the other way around. There is no morality involved.

Plastic tags are among the cheapest promotional items a company can buy.

Plus it isn't even Disney that pays for them. They are a sponsored product so it is American Tourist Luggage that pays for every single one.

That's the second time you have asked if I was serious. Was there something in my reply that indicated otherwise?

You obviously have a different opinion, and I can respect that. I hope you will extend the same courtesy.
