I was getting so excited about all of the snow we're supposed to get tomorrow. I thought we'd take DD out for her first sled riding experience. Went to Target at lunch today-no sleds! I asked an employee and he said they haven't come in yet, they're not in stock yet.

But if anyone is in need of HUGE summer coolers, they have plenty there. ;)

I'm betting the employee you talked to was confused. Most winter stuff is already out of stock, and the new summer stuff on its way in. I know where I work the winter stuff starts to come into the stores in July, and the Summer stuff has already started to arrive.

I saw some at Bed Bath and Beyond last weekend.

I have been looking around for a basic red sled and they are hard to find. I can't remember if it was Target or Walmart but I was walking around and found a woman sitting on the floor trying out a sled with her toddler in a stroller next her!! It was funny ... it was last week. I want to say it was Target.

I stole one fom my parents basement last weekend from when I was younger! They obviously didn't need it anymore. Now if I can get some rock salt on the ice in the driveway before it gets covered again, that'd be great. I almost took out the center divider in our garage on my way in from sliding in.

I got one of those plastic sleds at target this morning. It was the last one but they did have alot of those round plastic ones. Now trying to get snow boots for my daughter today - most places were sold out.

Don't know how far you are from PA in MD, but I was just at the Crocs outlet in Limerick a couple of days ago and they had snow boots, they also had buy anything in the store and get one free.

I also saw boots at Stride Rite.

I saw sleds in Dick's Sproting Goods and Sports Authority.

My poor kids are getting new ones for Christmas from my mom. We got them at Target at the beg of Dec. They will have to use the old ones if they go.

I just saw sleds at BJ's and also a local hardware store had a TON of them

Usually the big box home improvement stores carry sleds.

herc.

Sleds aren't sold here, but we do occasionally get snow. The year we had a snowfall and DD was around 2, we put her in a laundry basket and tied a rope to it. Worked great. Actually better than a real sled would have, because the sides kept her from falling out! (That was in the days before digital cameras, or I'd share the picture with you.)

No sleds here, but I think that's usual. I did buy DD two swimsuits yesterday because if I wait until spring, the style we like will be long gone. It was weird putting those up on the belt with her stocking stuffers, but it's better than scouring every store in a few months. :headache:

Menard's has them. Not sure if you have those in your neck of the woods.

How old are your kids? They may not care if it's a real sled or not. When I was a kid, nobody in my area had a sled, we would all just go down on trash can lids, large pieces of cardboard, or those plastic under the bed storage boxes. So if you get snow and no sled, never fear, the makeshift ones are just as fun.
