No-show to BOG pre-open reservation

If you would like to actually eat at BOG for breakfast (I know you said you've eaten there multiple times for dinner), you could pre order so you get in and out. Me, my husband and son did this last September and we were done and out at around 8:35. Got great pictures and we were the first people of the day to get on Peter Pan.
The coffee is a good idea though. Just didn't know if you wanted to actually try the food too :)

OP:

- If you don't show to your ADR then you will be charged $10 PER PERSON. Not sure how many are in your party.
- BOG has never had their stuff together and it has never been a true Prix Fixe like they said.
- You may order just one meal to share, kids meals for adults, just drinks & cupcakes.
- Rather than lose all your money I would go in and order a couple things to get your monies worth.
- For clarification, you are not allowed to wander the park. There are CMs posted all over to block your entry to different areas.
- Even coming out of BOG after eating you will find CMs blocking your path.
- I would get Main Street photos on way to restaurant.
- When we went for PPO breakfast, the walk to PP was blocked until the rope drop crowds came around the corner.
- Any given day can vary based on CMs and especially if there is an Early Morning Magic Event.

op, what you are proposing is a lousy thing to do. its no wonder Disney keeps changing rules, because it just seems like there are so many people on this site that will try to take advantage of every single loop hole there is. from refillable mugs to god knows what else. so in the future lets not get mad when Disney ups their no show fee, or requires one to buy an entrée for every person in the adr. it is the people like some of those on this thread that have caused it.

I think it is important to remember how many threads come back up as zombies in 6-8 months.

Disney actually is the culprit in this case. When BOG breakfast was announced it was announced as a fixed price. This was the perfect time for Disney to stand by that and charge per head. Nope. Share away! From day one there was no minimum. And then as time went by, instead of learning from this, Disney ups the price of their menu, but then adds ala carte, just like any other CS restaurant. WHich BOG is. It is Counter service, just like any other Disney counter service restauant, and you can order just a juice at any one of them. So Disney provides coffee and a cupcake price, which did not originally exist.

You cannot blame any guest for abiding by the rules that Disney puts into place. You can be upset those rules make it difficult for your family to get into BOG at the time you want, but you cannot try to make people abide by the "littlejimmy" rule of the day. Disney rules trun any of ours.

Agree. But people shouldn't be surprised if Disney does go to a hard and fast price fixed menu, if they notice that they are not making what they think they should during the breakfast hours.

Oh I agree that Disney will just drop the hammer down if they feel the need. I never understood why they opened the door to this in the first place, but they did. The fixed price was there at the get go so there would have been no push back from guests who were used to sharing their one plate between 5 people. Now if they do this, they will experience the same frustrated guests who were upset when the FP window finally was enforced. We like BOG breakfast and we use our CS credits there for the full meal, so the cupcake thing never applied to our strategy, but I feel it is very unfair to be upset with guests who are following the structure that Disney put into place, and then expanded upon to make ordering even less expensive.

I think it is reasonable to be upset with guests who make a reservation with no intention of showing up at at all.

I will never argue this! I believe that there is a difference between ordering in the manner Disney not only allows but seems to encourage, and abusing a process that Disney has put into place to discourage "bad" behavior.

I do not think there is anything wrong with what is being done...as far as "taking away from someone else who wanted to dine there"...well that other person could have gotten up at 4:30 at 180 days out and make a reservation as well...so I don't feel that is a valid point...also, all the people saying you want Disney to enforce making each guest purchase a quick service breakfast meal...for my family of 4 that would be 80-100!! That price for quick service is ridiculous anyway. Love Disney restaurants and will gladly pay 120 for 4 a huge breakfast spread at Crystal Palace with characters...but not 80-100 for a quick service breakfast there..no way
.. I can see it only of you are on the dining plan. Just my opinion...

But that would be your choice to pay or not to pay. OOP, I would not pay for this meal. I would choose CP and pay for that breakfast. All we are saying is that Disney opened BOG with a fixed price menu that included your pastry, entree and beverage. If they were serious about charging per head and limiting how people used this restaurant they woudl have treated it the same way they treat every other fixed price meal. You want in? You pay the piper. Period. Disney chose to not only allow sharing, they expanded their menu to incluse lesser priced options. If this is their menu I also agree that no one is breaking any rules when they choose to minimize their check.

I absolutely agree. Forget about Disney losing possible revenue on that meal. Think about the people that actually wanted that reservation to eat breakfast at BOG and couldn't get it.

And how do you know those people didn't try to do just that? I know I got up at the crack of dawn to make a BOG reservation before our last trip and wasn't able to get one. I know I'd be mad if I found out the reason I couldn't get a reservation was because someone else took it who had no intention of actually showing up. And I assume walk-ins aren't even an option at breakfast- at least not prior to park opening.

Yes, agreed.

I'm of the opinion they should do some form of real prix fixe. But, clearly, they have no intention of doing so. The last round of menu changes (price/beverages/cupcakes) make that abundantly clear.

Thus, until Disney act like it matters to them? I will always recommend your party of 5 order 1 cupcake and 1 coffee at PPO, and stop by Sleepy Hollow after your first run through Fantasyland. Because the $24 entrees aren't even a "good value!" on DDP. They're ridiculous, and not very good.

We had a PPO breakfast at BOG in April and we able to walk to PP well before 9am and rode twice by 9:10am. There were no CMs blocking access to anywhere in Fantasyland and we did PP twice, Dumbo twice and Barnstormer twice by 9:45am. We then did Little Mermaid, Small World, Pooh, HM and Barnstormer (again) all by 11:30, when we started using our FPs.
Our BOG ADR was at 8:10 and we had 2 kids meals, 1 adult meal and 1 coffee (which was awful) for the 4 of us. I'm not an early breakfast eater, so I just had the coffee. Food was not good (kids both had the crepes, DH had Eggs Florentine which seems not to be on the menu any longer). We wouldn't do it again for the food, but the early start was wonderful since we are a family (well, everyone except me) of early risers!

And you prove the point that on any given day, the rules may change. We've seen many report that the 7DMT access has varied. Then the addition of Magical Morning Hours has now started the rides sooner so that may have impacted some mornings. Different CMs do things different ways.

Basically there is no consistency in morning operations and nothing is guaranteed. Always have a Plan B.

What happens if I make a reservation to BOG before MK opens and I get let into the park and just don't go to my reservation? Have I just paid $10 to get let into the park early to take pictures and then line up for Peter Pan before everyone else? Is this too devious? The only concern I have is that I'll once I get checked in at the MK gates there will be a manhunt for me if I don't show up for the reservation.

P.S. I'll just eat some Tonga toast at the Poly before I show up and be full, eat better food, take pictures, and still pay less than I would have to eat at BOG.

Can you do it? Yes
Should you do it? Probably not.

Do I really care one way or the other? Naw.
