No Show on reservation

What happen if you reserved your table services and didn't show up for the reservation? We may be running late and can't make it to the reservation. Do you loose the TS credit? I tried to book some character dinner but not available. Do they allow walk-in and wait?

For most TS, they do ask that you try to cancel if you cannot make your reservation, but they only effect a charge at small number of them, typically the ones that require a cash deposit if you're not on the Dining Plan.

If there are no reservations available, you may or may not be allowed to wait for walk-in accommodation, depending on how many folks fail to show. It is typically a very low number (especially with the ones that have a non-refundable deposit), so I would not count on that.

In reading your post you ask two questions. First, what if you don't make your reservation time, are you charged. The response was given correctly, but please cancel if at all possible. The reason relates to your second question of being a walk-up to try and get in for a character or other meal.

If several people have reservations in the system filling up all available slots and just don't show and don't cancel, the restaurant will not know they are not showing up. As a result, you may be turned away even though there is room for you.

We have had this happen to us on past trips, where they said there was no time available for us, but the CM said to hang around anyway as many people don't show up and don't cancel their reservations. Sometimes we ended up being seated because of the empty space, sometimes we waited for nothing as everyone showed. We did this only in addition to our reservations when we decided last minute to try for table versus counter service. Yes, if we don't get in it's our fault for the last minute thing, but cancellations would have helped us fill the seats and the restaurant serve more customers.

I believe you can call Disney Dining to cancel from just about every pay phone on property by calling *88. It only takes a minute and you might make someones day. Here's wishing you good luck in getting each reservation you want. Happy eating!
