DH and I were looking into getting the Deluxe plan, since this is our DDs first trip and we want to do a couple character dinings, shows, etc. While I was busy crunching the numbers, I realized that our 2 year old won't be on the dining plan. I do know she can share our meals and/or eat off our plate, which is fine at some restaurants I'm sure. I'm just worried about having to pay OOP for some of her meals. Listen, the girl can eat. I don't know where she puts it in her little, stick body, but she can eat.

If I shell out the money for the Deluxe plan, then I don't want anything food-related coming OOP besides gratuity. I want to be able to use some of my credits for her. From what I read, the credits are basically "banked" and you use them as you wish, BUT you can't share them? We can't sit down at a TS restaurant and I order her something but use "my" credits? Same scenario for my mother. She is probably coming with us, but isn't interested in getting a DDP. So I couldn't use my credits to "pay" for my Mom's meal? Even if she is staying at a Disney resort, etc. and would be eligible for a DDP if she wanted one?

Are they really sticklers about this? Or will they look the other way and pretend with me that I'm eating two entrees?

Your Magic Bands will tell the CM you have two adults on your plan. You can then only order two adult meals at one time. Each person gets apps, entrees, and desserts with EVERY meal, so you should be able to feed your daughter off your plates. And at buffets, you can feed her off the buffet. You can also use some of your snack credits and pick up something for her before you head in to the restaurant.

As to your mom, if she's on your ressie, all people in your party have to be on the same package, so she will pay and have the DxDDP as well. You can't get it for just part of your group. If she's on her own ressie, then, no you cannot use your credits to pay for her meals.

The previous poster is correct. You won't be able to order more meals than people on the plan. If your mom stays in your room, she has to be on the same plan.

At a TS restaurant, ONE credit gets you an app, entree, and dessert?? Correct? How did I miss that? And my mom would be on her own ressie, just the same resort. But I will let her know she will have to pay OOP for any food if she decides not to get a DDP.

Correct; if on the deluxe plan each person gets an appetizer, entree, and dessert with each meal. At a signature restaurant then the same thing is true but you use 2 credits. I'd have to think that'd be enough to feed a two year old.

The above poster is correct. Even though the credits are banked and can be used in any configuration, you can only order the amount of meals on your band/key to the world card.

HA, yes that is certainly more than enough. I didn't realize one credit could get you so much.

This is on the deluxe plan only. If you get the regular plan, there is no appetizer.

And there are no appetizers or desserts included with breakfast, not even on the deluxe plan.

If just you, your mom, and your daughter go to a character meal, then the 2 credits would cover you? You could schedule a meal like that if there was something DH wanted to do during that time.

Children under 3 don't get dining credits. At character meals (there are no a la carte character meals) they can eat off the party's plates or eat anything they like from a buffet. So if 2 adults and a 2 year old go to a character meal, then they only need 2 adult credits. There would be no need at all to use a credit for a child under 3 in that scenario.
