no seat assignments available 90 days out

I'm booked on a NWA flight on 12/31 Orlando to Indianapolis - 4 tickets. I went online to get our seat assignments 90 days out and couldn't get seats - map only showed 1 seat available the rest already in use or reserved. All other legs of our flight we got seats - no problem. A search on NWA site won't even price the flight anymore. I'm guessing it is overbooked - any suggestions/advice for us? We don't really need to be on that flight - could take another later - but need suggestions on how to handle the situation.

Just keep calling the airline and asking for seat assignments. If it keeps up when it is time for your flight get to the airport early. Most times they hold back seats to be assigned only at the airport.

If they ask for volunteers at the airport I am sure they will find them.

Another option--if you are able to--is to go to the airport and actually talk to a NWA agent. I have had good luck with this...it might be worth a shot if you are close enough to an airport!
