A friend of mine looking to go during Thanksgiving just told me there are no rooms anywhere at Disney during Thanksgiving week. Kind of surprised me. Is that week generally that crowded?

Yup. Pretty much any extended school holiday or long work weekend means Disney is full.

1) Yes, it is that crowded.
2) Thanksgiving is the 2nd most crowded week of the year.
3) Christmas-to-New-Year's-Week is the busiest.

My family and I will be at Disney over Thanksgiving, and should you or your friend find accomodations for that week, I strongly suggest using tourguidemike.com for planning your days in the parks. He gives very insightfully useful information on which parks will be the busiest each day. Just a suggestion. :)

Thanksgiving week is very crowded at Disney World. We go every year that we can, though. And we stay offsite just to avoid the hassles of trying to get a room onsite.

Travelocity has the Dolphin available and at 159!!!
AllStar Movies-111.00
You might want to tell them to book right now if they're interested as these are the only onsites available.

I know the TA we are using this trip has rooms available from Nov 21st if that helps... try Magical Memories :) Not sure exactly what they have left, but we are booking the Poly from the 21st thorugh the 28th :goodvibes

We have go every T'giving and have always thought the crowds were pretty mild (until Wed late) in comparison to other times we've visited during the year. I know we made our ressies for T'giving back early Aug and there was limited availability then.:confused3

Pretty crowded, but Im surprised too. One time I got a room from an internet website when wdw told me they were booked. You may want to try the sight that starts Expe if you do not have luck from WDTC.

There are rooms available all week long through Thanksgiving Day (checking out that day) but not for Thursday-Sunday.

We just added the Sun after T'giving to our ressies...so seems like maybe there are days available here and there, just not altogether. Maybe if they are willing to change resorts? They may be able to get 2 days here and 2 days there...? Or maybe they will just get lucky...:wizard:
