This is my first post here at the Dis. Great site to just sit here and dream about Disney. I was reading and decided to go to WDW and make ressies. I called and there were no rooms available for 2/18. Bummer I'm still going in April with wife and kids.

Have a great trip in April and.....welcome to the DIS!

Welcome to the Dis. Did you try all resorts? Did you try asking for AAA discounted rooms (you can always get the card if you get the discount). The reason I ask about that is, if I understand the way it works correctly, those discounted rooms are actually a block of rooms reserved by AAA, so they may be available even if rack rate rooms are sold out. Of course, I could be wrong on that, but it never hurts to ask.

Kungaloosh!
Morticia.

:cool1:

Keep calling back!
There are about 200 ressies on staff or more depending upon season, their hours are extended now and they randomly add room alotments, there's always someone canceling, believe it or not!

You will get something, KEEP TRYING!!! :flower:
;-)

Good luck
have fun on your vacation!!!!
:cheer2:

When I called and got a AAA room, they asked me for my card number. I don't know if they all do, just an FYI.

When I asked about a AAA room, they asked for the number, I "told" them my husband had the card, and was able to save the room, and call back the next day with the card number when we got an AAA card. :confused3

Just got off the phone confirming my reservation (starts Feb 18 at AKL). The CM said that it was good I had a confirmation, because the resort was at full capacity. I was kind of surprized, even though it is President's week. I bet the parks will be super-busy. Guess I'll sit on the balcony and watch the animals! Bear 22, good luck and keep trying! People do cancel at the last minute--I know, I was one of them last year!

I think one reason ::MinnieMo is the Daytona 500 is 2/20 and that is the biggest race of the season and it's a week long event. Sorry!

That is the weekend that kicks off the spring break season because President's day is that Monday. NJ schools and many other northeastern schools are out for the week.

Have you tried the S/D? My neighbors originally couldn't get ressies for this past weekend so they stayed off property, the hated it and called to see if anything was available and by luck it was. The were able to stay their last few nights at CS (and loved it).

Cancellations do happen, you just have to keep trying. In the meantime if you have your heart set on staying on site and can't find anything, try the DTD resorts.
