No rooms 2/1-2/4

Strange. None of the parks are booked to capacity. I am there that weekend and can't think of any big event that was announced when i planned the trip

There is a dance competition from the 3rd through the 6th. I would guess they would stay at value resorts. Is that the resort category you are looking at? Those competitions don’t always affect park crowd levels, so I could understand why park reservations would still be available.

Ahhh! That makes sense. I have gone to Disney in the past during cheer competitions. Those events didn't really impact the parks in any significant way (most of the competitors are busy with their cheer competitions during the day). I recall seeing large groups of them, however, at the deluxe resorts I was staying at. So maybe they are staying all over the property that weekend

UGH!! I was there that week last year but stayed offsite. This time I'm staying at ASSP ~ and I only booked it a few weeks ago - interesting there was a room and it was nicely discounted. I don't want to be there with the cheerleaders - been there done that and they are awful at the hotels.

NOW here I am contemplating moving offsite ...................... two weeks out.

So sorry you have this stress at the last minute. Are you there the exact dates they are? On their webpage, the hotel package dates span the 2nd through the 7th. If I were overlapping a day, I would probably stick it out, but if my dates overlapped the whole thing, I would probably change. I remember staying at Pop Century during Pop Warner, and that is not an experience I care to repeat.

If you can find a hotel off property with a liberal cancellation policy (same day or day before check in) then keep trying to find a room at a different on property location, that might be the best compromise. I hope you have a great trip!

Thanks for the empathy .... I have such nightmare experiences with groups ... cheerleaders out cheering in front of our room until 2-3 am. Hotels do NOTHING to help. Sad.

I checked my dates again, Sun - Friday, so Jan 29 - Feb 3. I rarely stay onsite anymore (I get much more for less offsite) and was booked offsite originally but my DS loves Disney buses  and I got a great rate, $119 most nights so I was going to "suffer" for him. But I didn't plan to suffer this much. Looks like only a couple of nights but those could be a couple of sleepless nights if they practice outside my room. :sad1:

Only plus: I booked Preferred. Hopefully they are all in Standard.

We are there almost the same time...eek! Ran into dance competition (a similar group of "enthusiastic "young ladies ) at universal last year- not an experience I ever want to repeat!! We check in on the 28th of January and out on the 3rd of February at BRV, maybe with luck we will be spared the majority the cheer groups ! wishing the same for you!

I am trying to find rooms starting on the 7th and there is nothing in my price range. $800 a night is not an option for us. So stressed. I waited until last minute since my son is cast and waited until he had access to discounts and there is nothing. I have my tickets and flight so I guess it's off property.😞

Cast discounts go quick! I made mine when they were first released back in July. We are going for my granddaughters’s cheer competition and staying for our anniversary. Booked the first half,2 rooms at the Beach Club before she even got her bid to Nationals! I knew I could always cancel it. My husband and I are switching to the BWI for our anniversary after my son and his family leaves.

My DD worked there a year and there was never a good option for CM discount unless I wanted top deluxe rooms, that I had no interest in. I think our best option was AKL for almost $300 and it was YEARS ago. I stayed once on a friends CM discount at POR but it was minimal.

Going forward - I would book a cancelable room on or offsite that I was prepared to stay in .... then I would have her look for something. I could change my dates because I drive. It never worked out.

Good Luck, I'm traveling there twice in Feb and am shocked by lack of rooms and prices. SO I'm holding my ASSP and keeping my fingers crossed for good room.

It might be worth going to the front desk to check in and request to be away from wherever they are placing the group. Since you mentioned that you are preferred, perhaps they can place you as far as possible from standard, if that is where they are staying. I would assume they would try to put them all fairly close together, but only the room assignors will know for sure. It may be that they will have run of the house and it’s not possible to be separate from them. That is what happened to me at Pop for Pop Warner.

I am checking out of Music on the 2nd, so I am keeping my fingers crossed I miss the worst of it. I hope you have a good trip!

Yes, I'm not doing online check in and we'll see what they have when I get there.

I really like Surf's Up but only half is renovated. Touchdown is done but half faces the field where they practice. Fingers crossed.

I'm at all star movies from 1/29 to 2/4 with the AP discount. I'm now nervous about cheerleaders taking over. I shouldn't have read this thread :worried:

I am glad to read this, will be @por first week of Feb, would like to avoid these groups.
