I had a horrible experience with CSR check-in last May. I was doing a split stay and I checked out of POFQ, dropped my bag at Bell Service, and headed to MK for the morning. Around 2pm, I took the bus to CSR, figuring that I’d have time to have lunch and explore the resort (it was my first time there) while I waited for my text. I ate, I explored, I waited . . . and waited . . . and waited. No text. So around 4, I want to the desk. I was told that my room wasn’t ready yet, but I’d get a text as soon as it was. So I got a drink and waited some more. My phone was dying (the charger was packed in my bag), I was bored, I was cranky, and I wanted a room more than anything. Time kept ticking by and I was getting seriously aggravated that my room wasn’t ready yet. Around 6, I decided to check back in at the desk, gearing myself up to throw a (polite) fit if necessary. And guess what? My room was ready, but there was a technical issue and texts weren’t going out. Even though everything had been fine a mere two hours earlier. Argh. I’m still frustrated thinking about it.
However, this experience was an anomaly, as I’ve rarely had problems with check-in. There was one other time that I didn’t get a text, but it was my own fault for accidentally removing the credit card that I had on file. And another time, I got my text, but then had to go to the front desk anyway because my Magic Band didn’t work to open the door. But my typical experience is getting the “your room is not quite ready” text at the time that I selected for my arrival at the resort, followed shortly by the room info.
