We are scheduled in March at CBR. However, I had a windfall the other day (won $ in a contest - completely unexpected). I am trying to upgrade to WL, but they don't have available at code rate. I have tried for 3 days now. Actually all of the deluxes except AKL are booked at the code. They do have rack rates available - but, too expensive. It is really frustrating, because I did a night by night search through the booking system and find that only 1 night of the 7 that we are going is booked solid at the code rate. I asked Disney if they could override the system for that one night only, but they can't.

I don't want to do a split stay. One of my children does not do well with disruption.

Any advice? I do keep calling and checking the internet.

I think my family, especially husband, would really like WL. My husband is always giving me a hard time about Disney, so it would be nice to stay somewhere that would make it more special to him.

Well, I noticed that our counters put us WDW about the same time, and yes, all rooms at most of the deluxes are gone!:(
I've been calling every day, three or four times, to get the CRT club level with AP or any code!

Nothing.....

Just keep trying, someone WILL cancel!::yes::

BTW...Congrats on your windfall!

This happened to us once, and the WL is my husband's favorite. I called everyday (hated the phone bills), Finally got it on Disney.com, and called they told me to book it through the computer because it did not show as available. I did and I got it...Courtyard view and all!

I hope this helps, keep calling and keep checking the computer, you never know.

honeymom,

Is the one night in question at the beginning, middle, or end of your stay?

If you're truly set on the Wildnerness Lodge, if I were you, I would book two reservations for the Wildnerness Lodge. One for the nights that have the code, and one without. Can you swing ONE night at rack rate?

It really wouldn't upset your son any either. Just ask your reservation agent to note them as continuing reservations. There's only a slight chance that you will have to change rooms, but most likely, you'll just have to go to the front desk, and do some paperwork. Your son could easily stay in the room while you take care of it.

If not, then I would try the Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was designed by the same architect that designed the Wildnerness Lodge. :)

The one night is smack in the middle - Thursday, March 18th.

Thought about AKL. We want some water sports nearby though. Hope to do it someday.

Keep in mind the 5day cancellation policy. You never know someone might cancel, so keep trying the closer it gets the better your chances. I also agree try and book what you can at the code rate and then keep trying for the difficult night.

Needless to say I recently had the same problem when I was trying to book some visiting family. Ended up putting them at AKL and they really enjoyed it.

Well, howdy neighbor!! I'm right in the next town! (Norwalk).

Have you tried Dreams Unlimited? Though I haven't used them, people here have raved about them. They may be able to get your WL reservation.

Good luck!! And like the others said, keep trying!! Someone's bound to cancel!!

After reading the other post, I would make your reservatios for WL on the nights you can get them and either book one night at AKL or a value then just enjoy your stay at WL. After you are there the Front desk will do everything they can to help with your stay hopefuly uninterrupted. (Is booking a room at rack-rate an option if it is I would go with SnackyStacky suggestion) The 5 day cancelation is also a great idea to keep in mind, but cancelations happen every day.
You said one of your children didn't handle change very well, why not have one parent change resorts while the family is at one of the Parks then just take the bus back to the new Resort (if it's the AKL they will be excided just to see the animals) Have a small bag so you wont have to bring everything up to room for the one night. Then the next morning back to WL.

I was in the same situation last month! I kept calling and calling and couldn't get all the nights at the ap rate. I called for days and days and then finally decided to try Dreams Unlimited. Within two hours of emailing them I had the exact resort and ap rate that I wanted! I was amazed! I would highly recommend contacting them. Sue Ellen worked with us and she was really great. :)

We had a campsite reserved at Fort Wilderness once because my father had just gotten a new 5th wheel camper and wanted to take us. Well, as luck would have it, his brakes stopped working and he was unable to bring the RV. So, I called WDW the day before the trip and was unable to get anything resembling a clean stay, ASMu for the 1st two nights, nothing for the third night, ASMu for the 4th night, and nothing for the 5th night. Well, once we arrived, we explained our dilema to the front desk. We were able to get a extra night at the ASMu and were able to get theContemporary for nights 4 and 5. The moral, there are always some sort of cancellations.

Okay, I was able to get 5 of the nights in a Courtyard room at the code rate and 2 of the nights at Rack Rate. I will keep trying to get those rooms at the code rate. The odd thing is that I don't have any problem over the weekend that I am there, just during the week.

Do any of you lodge experts have a recommendation for a Courtyard room in a good location. I would like to stay away from anything too noisy, as my daughter (she has a.d.d.) is noise sensitive. The kids really want bunkbeds, too.

honeymom,

I believe these rooms are Inner Courtyard View with One Queen size bed and bunkbeds. Room 4113 4115 4165 & 5149 (South Wing) Room 5061 (North Wing) The rooms in the south wing may also to able to see all or part of the EWP and a few of the high fireworks from MK looking over the north wing roof.
Room 5061 may be able to see the EWP, not 100% sure.
There are also Coutyard Views that face the Villas and Quiet Pool, but they don't have the same WOW that the Inner Courtyard Views have.
I would just request: Inner Courtyard View, with bunksbeds, (smoking or non-smoking)
