No room at the Poly April 23-30, 2005

I plugged in our dates on the website and NOTHING!! All they kept offering me was boardwalk , which we wont take, silly but one of the ds is afraid of clowns so the keister coaster is definetely out in the pool area. Also AKL which we wont do because of our bad experience there. They did have yacht or beach which is a possibility etc. Well I guess all the NY metro people will invade the POLY for spring break. I guess its looking more like the swan again for us.

Try calling WDW instead of using their web site. I did the same thing 2 months ago and it showed the same thing you are seeing. I called and got a GVC for 6 nights to celebrate my Bithday while we are at WDW. My family is staying at the Poly 4/28 to 5/2 and we can't wait.Tonga toast and Volcano pool here we come! So keep trying and good luck!

Try checking Expedia, Travelocity, and Hotels.com. They all show availability for those dates. I will be at the Contemporary at the same time and it is showing even less availability. Is it supposed to be that crowded that week?

OUCH I knew it was not going to be real low crowds the last week in April but I was hoping it would not be TOO bad. Guess we are going to find out!!!!

THe end of April is the first week of the 50th celebration kickoff on May 5, 2005 (05/05/05). Will probably be large crowds and sold out resorts that entire week. Press will be arriving before the 5th and preparation will be happening all over. We'll be there!! We have ressies for April 30-May 14th. Made my ressies in July 2004.

Hm...I thought the 50th Celebration didn't officially start until 05/05/05?

Yes the official celebration is on Thursday May 5th, but there will be lots of preparations going on days before. I imagine the weekend right before (April 30/May1) will start feeling the effects. I'm sure that the sponsors of the new rides (Georgia-Pacific for Stunt Show/MGM) and whoever is the sponsor of Soarin' will have lots of VIP folks in also, along with lots of Disney VIPs and other sponsors. Probably alot of private parties and private viewings. Many other CMs on the disboards have been posting this information too. We have been reading lots of information in the employee newsletters. I'm sure after the new year there will be more information coming out. I think, and hope, the crowds will be manageable, but no way believe the crowds will be light or even comparable to past years. I think after the first week of May, things will go back to normal patterns.

Public schools are closed in the NY City and Long Island areas....This is our spring break....We are only off for the two days prior to Easter weekend, so for Northerners wanting to vacation...This is the week. The airfare is also very high from NY to Florida during that week, indicating a heavy travel period.
