Hi DISers! I know that there has been a lot of discussion lately about all the booked resorts from late Sept. through early Nov.. Mirlow and I were on the phone last night and we are both having a tremendous amount of trouble booking ANYTHING! The search funtion is down and I apologize for boring you all to death but is there any hope? I have 2 long weekends (the one after Colombus Day and then again in late Oct.) that I can rebook my trip that was cancelled. Thanks for any advice. Threehearts

I find it hard to believe they are completely booked for that time. I still think they may just be holding rooms until they get all of the misplaced CBR guests situated. If I remember right, the same thing was happening last year during the POFQ closing, which we were a part of. Keep trying!

With all honesty there was a cabin at Ft. Wilderness available and a couple of rooms at ASsp but nothing else. Thanks for the encouragement.

The resorts really are booked up even for the week we are going Sept 21-28, unless you want a RPC for $660 night.

Good luck to you, and just keep trying. Maybe someone will cancel or decide to upgrade and you will get your room. If not, try January... there is never any problem getting a room then!

eeyore0062- You know we actually could go in January but the airfares are quite high so I was hoping for early Fall. Thanks.

Go to disneyworld.com, and click on the red specials button. You can make a ressie there, and there is availability at all the resorts they have specials on. I check several for a 14 day stay, no prob.

Threehearts, have you tried to get a room at the Courtyard Marriott Lake Buena Vista? They have a Thursday through Monday special going on right now and you can get a room for $25 per night in October. If you can get at least some of your days for that price, book it, and then continue to call back and see if the other days become available closer to your date. That is what I did, and I ended up getting the promotional rate for our entire stay!

We really enjoyed our 5 night stay there. The rooms were a nice size, with balconies, were neat and clean. The hotel was very well maintained, and the staff was wonderful! The have a manager's party every afternoon from 4-6 in the lobby lounge where they serve free wine, beer, and sodas, as well as provide snacks.

This hotel shares all of the onsight perks of a WDW resort, and the Disney Village busses service it. I heard no complaints about transportation. You will be within walking distance of DTD and the Crossroads shopping complex.

The pools are nice, there are 2 larger pools, a kiddie pool and a hottub, as well as a playground for the kids. There is also a full service restaurant, and a workout room.

For this sworn "stay on property" type, Courtyard Marriott really turned me around. It may not be themed, but it sure was nice!

Give it a try, and good luck!

This morning... $119/night for standard view. They had all kinds of dates available when we called; we did several scenarios. The rate was good 11/3-12/25 of this year. Our code was CKO

My husband and I would love to try AKL but for a long weekend with 5 and 6 y/o it seems a long trip to the MK. I will definitely look into this idea though. Thanks for the tip. Susan

Your kids would love AKL, and the bus ride to the MK really isn't that bad. We did it in reverse when we left the MK to go to dinner at Boma... the trip was about 10-15 minutes, which is about the same as from any moderate or the boat ride from the WL. Good luck!

I've had good luck calling CRO first thing in the morning---(7am Eastern) They update the cancellations, etc. overnight.....You might even be able to get something with one of the codes from Mousesavers...

You DISers are so nice!! I have some really good ideas and tips now and I feel sure that something positive will come of this. I just may try the AKL although the Courtyard rates are enticing. Thank you for all for being SO helpful Threehearts

Just a notation on Eoyores post if someone is considering it. This is the Courtyard Downtown Disney. Not Lake Buena Vista. The Buena Vista ones are in the new Marriott gated village with the Springhill & Fairfield. They have their own bus service to my knowledge.

We did stay at the DD one as the village wasn't open yet in 2000. At $25 its a FANTASTIC bargain.
