No Reservation Number!!!

i'm meeting a friend down in old key west next month. her and her friends will already be in florida for a week and they will be driving to the resort. i however will be flying down and did not feel like paying $100 roundtrip for a cab. i made a reservation online for the magical express but i didn't know the reservation number and my friend couldn't seem to find it at the time. is that going to be a problem??? will my bags just go to luggage at the front desk?? or can i just get my bags (bag actually) myself and head off to the resort on ME? OR! will i even be able to use the magical express at all without the number?! i'd ASSUME not having the reservation number wouldnt be a problem. surely if it was they would not have allowed me to make the reservation in the first place. but you never know

Have you read ANY of the threads here about Magical Express?
Yes, you do need to reserve it in advance.
No, it's not going to be a problem.
Yes, you can ride it by yourself.
No, your bags will not go to the front desk - they will go directly to your ROOM. Note that this takes several hours after the plane lands.
Yes, you can pick up your own luggage - but why would you want to?

Here's the DME number...call them and find out. 866-599-0951. If you weren't able to give them a room reservation number then you most likely won't be on their schedule. Otherwise, everyone and anyone would be able to book it, even if they weren't listed on a reservation. Get the reservation number from your friend, and then call DME directly (if you're headed down within 2 months, otherwise you may not show up in their system yet).
But, if you arrive at the DME desk, and they don't have you listed, you won't be getting on the bus! They will send you over to the Mears desk, where you can pay $25 and get a ride to WDW.

thanks. i did that but they said it takes 48 hours to appear in their system and to call them back. do mears buses still go to disney world? only because...mears runs the magical express. so i didnt know they still sent their "mears" buses to the resort. i only think this because before i booked the magical express i called mears to make a bus reservation and they said that the only thing that goes to disney world resorts anymore are the magical express, limos and towncars. which i thought was kind of ridiculous because ive been there dozens of times and i could have sworn i saw other buses. but i guess you can get one from the desk?
