No pin for me but...

Not how you should be treating your loyal customers, IMHO.

Exactly.

And hey, I get it - They want to to bring NEW customers in as well. And yeah, the AP discounts are great and I appreciate them. But it's not right. And I think what bothers me most is when you get one of these rude CM's on the phone. Hey, I'm spending alot of money and I'm paying YOUR salary - think about it. So, not only is it a slap in the face not to get the same discount others are getting, but now you're telling me that I'm bothering you???

Disney - Monitor your operators. Or stop calling yourself "magical".

that has to be some sort of package??? I know you got dining but did you get tickets as well? $1300 for 5 nights is $260 per night. For a moderate in September.. that is not good.. unless I am missing something here? Aug 5th-Oct 3rd is value season..room only without a discount is $160 + tax for water view.. you are paying $260...:confused3 all of that extra is dining? Like I said, unless I am missing something, you did not get a great deal. I could be wrong but do your math, how can that be 40% off? You said online it was $1580.. 40% off of that is not $1300, it is $948

Remember poster has dining which means there absolutely must be a package.
The discount is off simply the room portion of the package. 40% off a nightly charge of 145 is 58 multiply that by 5 it becomes 290. The 280 price difference should be a little more especially when tax is considered but it is just about right. all other componants are not discounted. Dining and room alone full price would be about 1300 add on what I am assuming is one day tickets that would bring the package total full price right about that 1580. I see we are discussing a water room so of course that effects my numbers but still the idea is there for the exlanation.

I missing where the discount is too:

POFQ Value Season is $145/night. 5 nights plus 12.5% tax is $815.63.

Dining for 2 adults and 2 kids is $99.96/night (38.99+38.99+10.99+10.99). That's $499.80 for 5 nights.

Combined, that's $1,315.43. I'm assuming this is the OP's actual total (as opposed to $1,300 even).

Where's the discount?

Edit: Oh, I missed that it was a water view room, but that would still only make the total $1,399.80.

If There Is Dining There Must Be A Package

So this means they are paying for room, and tickets, and dining. You must add the cost of tickets to what you are adding up so the above posters 1399 must also have tickets added to it and even one day tickets would total $262. So from what you have added up, posters 1300 saves 99+262 = 361.

didn't see any mention of tickets. sorry.

I'm sure the op didnt feel the need to mention the tickets since to get dining you have to have tickets but that isn't necessarily known by people who havent ran into the issue before or seen the posts about it. I was just trying to make sure you saw what I was saying in the previous post by actually hilighting that info.

This what I love best about these boards. Is that everyone is willing to share knowledge. What seems so obvious to those who have experienced it, is often completely new to those who haven't. I knew you had to have tickets for the dining plan, but I totally forget about it. So the OP did get a good deal. All that extra $$ to spend on other things. OP-hope you have magical, dreams come true, kinda of vacation!!

How do you get these emails/deals? I'd love to sign up!

Ahh, there's the question we would all loved answered. Nobody knows. Disney's logic is not real logic. My best suggestion is to call CRO and update your information in their computer.

I'm sorry to have ruffled so many feathers. I just thought that others may be able to get the good deal as well. I also did not get the pin code even though I was there 3 times in 12 months. I'm not sure why this agent was able to get me the deal; I'm just glad he was. He said if free dining comes out or some deal for our dates to call back and switch it over to that deal.

I have to agree in the difference in agents. If you don't like the one you get, call back and talk to another. Maybe some of us who go more frequently aren't getting the deals because they know we will go anyway. By offering special deals to less frequent customers, you may turn them into more frequent customers like many of us. There are plenty of specials offered throughout the year for everyone, you just have to keep looking.

As for the discount, the 40% is off of the room portion of the package. I wish it was off of the tickets/dining plan. Included in our package is 1 day tickets as well so right there is another $260 you don't have added into your calculation. I am saving over $300 as the cost without discount would be $1,666.40 and my total cost is $1,306.40. If free dining is offered my total cost would be $1,166.60 (rack room rate and 4 1-day passes.) (I forgot when I checked it online to look at water view not standard so my savings are even more!!!)

Luck of the draw ... Random targeted advertising. Make sure you are registered at disneyworld.com allowing any kind of mailings they ask you about. Order the planning dvd. make sure your infor is right in the disney reservations systme. no guarentees but the only way for the mailer people to find you is for you to be on the lists.

I was unaware that Disney is unable to change its policy regarding packages. Thank you for the education.
