No passages for FoP????

Yes! We got off the ride at 10:44... the river was posting an hour and a half wait so we left pandora to do other things and came back for lunch at the canteen. It was about 15 min to order (12:50pm) but very tasty beef. The crispy tofu isn't as good... it tastes like salty fries.

Awesome! So you got in line roughly at 845 and despite a posted wait time of three hours you were off the ride in two hours. Very helpful. Thanks!

An alternate strategy is to wait until later in the evening when the line gets short. We find this option to be a more efficient use of our time than trying to fight through the masses in the morning.
Here's an example from FoP earlier this week:

At 9:30 am, the posted wait was 210 minutes with an actual wait of 240.

At 9:30 pm, the posted wait was 60 minutes with an actual wait of 30.

I have a FP for FOP on 10/28 for 5:35 that I'm probably cancelling if anyone is interested in that date. The time will just not fit in with my plans for the day. I was on the website at 60/7AM and I could not get anything earlier than that. I guess I'm just lucky I got anything at all. I also not sure about my DH. He has back problems and also issues with motion so he may not even be willing to do it.:(

Have been on the ride and was able to snag a FastPass before it even was open.

Trip is end of Jan, and we are staying onsite 4 nights, so not sure if I will get a FastPass, I'll try.

Thanks for the replies

Keep checking. We were able to pick up 5 passes all at the same time 34 days out. I found them at about 7 PM.

Two days ago we were in everest line around 11am. Checked app. Saw FOP avail THAT DAY at 3:30 and 4:30. For 3 grabbed the 3:30. Luck, fluke?? Who knows?!?!

I have read reports that at 10:38am on the day of they release a few more FoP FP+s.

Also, I did the rope drop trick, arriving 1.5 hrs early and was able to stay ahead of the crowd and walked on. My DD rode it standby at the end of the night, entering the line at 9:26pm. A 90 min wait was posted and they waited 45 mins.
Dude! That is then what happened. See my PP

At 60 days for us, there was no availability at all on our AK day. I kept checking, every day, often a few times a day, and at 47 days I snagged 3 for the afternoon. I have to say, I'm glad I did. Standby was pretty well 3 hours nearly the entire day we were there. It was an amazing ride, I very much enjoyed it, however there is no way I would ever stand in line for 3 hours to ride it, or anything else for that matter.

How did you find 3? Did you have to keep searching by changing the number in your group? Or did it give you an option of 3 available? I am wondering because we have a large group but it would be nice if some of us could get a fastpass. But it's annoying to have to try so many searches by changing variables.

I specifically needed 3, so that is what I searched for. I had a FP for the 3 for Na'vi River Journey, and just kept trying to change it to Flight of Passage, and then magically, at the 47 day mark, surprisingly, it was available, so I gave up the Na'vi River FP's and took the Flights of Passage instead.

Wow. I feel very lucky. We arrived at WDW on August 17th around 8:30 pm, so our first park day was Friday. We didn't head to AK until Monday. Our 60 fastpass date was June 18th and I was on right at 7:00 a.m. I got every fastpass I wanted, maybe not at the time I wanted, but I got them (and made adjustments afterward). Maybe because our AK was on our 5th Disney day, I was able to get four of them for 2:40-3:40? I honestly had no idea that FoP was that popular (until I saw 270 minute wait) or that it was that difficult to get a fastpass.

Keep trying. It's worth it. One of the best rides we've been on.

I just managed to book FOP for the 4th day into our vacation for 2 people.

There were a lot of available times during our 2 week span - I booked 5 FOP but can still get many more. Some in the morning and a few evenings. Again, this was for a party of 2.

We are here now - had an 8:00 breakfast at Tusker house and paid early/joined the hoard of people at the entrance to Pandora by 8:45. Immediately it posted a 180 min wait and we are still in the queue now, 87 minutes later having just gotten to the room with a skull. Wish I knew how much longer it's going to take but none of the CMs would give us an estimate as we passed them. There have also been zero chances for a restroom and I'm hurting something fierce (sorry tmi).:(
Sunday was our AK day too. I'm so glad we slept in and just showed up at 10:30. Our plan was to ride Everest standby, but AK was jammed Sunday (all the parks looked packed tbh). We did our 3 and left!

I understand not wanting to give locals and AP holders who aren't staying on property the full 60 days to book, but I feel like it is a slap in the face to some of their most loyal customers to not be able to get a FP at all to new rides. I think it would be a good compromise to give APs a small number of days a year (maybe 3?) where they can book at 65-70 days in advance. Spread out over the year, it wouldn't impact on-site availability that much.

I agree.

While this particular scenario doesn't affect us many other "slaps in the face" do and I won't be renewing my AP when it expires in Nov.

Just wanted to pop back in and give another update... after lunch we went into the shop and I waited maybe 10 minutes to purchase a banshee toy. I didn't even look at the rest of the merch it was so crowded! The river was still showing 110+ minute wait so we left the park. I watched for the rest of the evening thinking I could go back and get in line later but stayed at over an hour wait for the rest of the night also. I never saw even a single FP show up in the app despite checking frequently. In the end I didn't return to wander at night which I had planned on since the park closed at 9pm - that would have only given 45 min or so of darkness to wander in... we went back to F&W instead and then popped over to the MK since it was open until 11. I feel like the parks were WAY too crowded Sunday to have every single one aside from MK close at 9pm...!

If the park had been open late I would absolutely have tried this, but it closed at 9. With an early close, it just never thinned out.

You screen shot appears to show that it did thin out on Sunday evening. The posted wait time at about 8:30 pm was 70 minutes, while the actual reported wait time (green dot) was 30 minutes.

Sure, one dot/reported time... when I hit the 1/2 to get to the second page it says the purple line was the reported times. I admit I'm not an expert at using their time chart since I usually am not that invested in it, but it seems like even after RoL was going on waits were still an hour. Im not sure what the black dots are either on there. I definitely would have happily gone and waited 30 min if there was anyway at all to know at the time its what I would see. Disney was still reporting over an hour and a half when I last checked just after 8pm.

It seems that very few Lines App users report the actual wait times so there are never many green dots on the charts.

The black dots represent the posted wait times at the attraction. The purple line simply connects these dots. The blue and red lines are the original and updated projections. Disney has historically inflated the posted wait times later in the evening in order to discourage late riders and move guests toward the gift shops and exits. We first read about this in the 1999 unofficial guide so it's nothing new. We always see a lot of guests leaving attraction without riding because they simply assume that the posted time is accurate.

They also use a technique known as Line Stacking to close off portions of the queue to make the line appear longer than it really is. Given that it was the last hour of the day, it is not unreasonable to see a posted time of 70 minutes and expect an actual wait of 30 minutes or less. You can always ask the attendant if the posted wait time is accurate. They do know the actual wait and will share that info if asked nicely.

Roger, thanks for clarifying! I've experienced inflated wait times in the past and have come to expect it from Disney but this trip we encountered a bunch of lines that were all over the board on their standby estimate. We stood in RnR for over an hour when it was posted to be 35 minutes the day prior. ToT on the other hand was posting a 75 minute wait and it was a WALK ON. The standby line walked past us suckers in the FP+ line and got on before we did after we had been standing out in the courtyard for 10 min or so. I think my spirit may have been broken by those two events and FoP earlier in the day. I have never had an PPO breakfast fail so spectacularly before even on "hot" tickets as I had that morning. None of the CMs would give time estimates heading in until the girl right outside the attraction and her guess was way off too.
