If you were kind enough to read my earlier reports you know that I was playing phone tag with another DISer, Gina2000. After missing two calls from her I decided to take matters into my own hands and call her before we left POR. It was very special for me to finally be able to speak with her, and a great start to the day! :)

Today was going to be a different kind of Disney day for us. DH's parents are "Snowbirds", Canadians who spend the majority of the winter in Florida. We had arranged for them to come and meet us at POR mid-afternoon and to take them out for dinner at the Flying Fish Cafe on the Boardwalk. They were staying about a 2 1/2 hour drive away, and were to call us when they arrived.

Once again DH enjoyed his Blue Plate Special at the POR food court while I downed two pots of coffee and a banana getting ready to go. First order of the day...shopping!! We don't have Bath & Body Works stores in Canada, and they don't have a website to order from, so today I was determined to get to their store at the Crossroads plaza and pick up a few things. There's so much to choose from it took me a while to decide, but eventually I picked up doubles of their new Rich Citrus Cream line and some of the True Blue Spa products. An excelllent shopping adventure!! :)

Off to Downtown Disney Marketplace to check out the stores. We weren't there 30 minutes when DH's phone rang....the inlaws were already at POR waiting for us...2 hours early!!

My inlaws aren't Disney people, and don't understand why we keep going back to WDW. I'm sure some of you understand what I mean, they just don't get it!! They've been to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, and as far as they're concerned, that's all there is to it. They weren't interested in going to a park, so we had decided to show them around some of the resorts.

After a tour of POR and a couple of yummy drinks at the pool bar, they grudgingly admitted that they were impressed with the size and structures of the resort, but we weren't finished with them yet.

We headed over to the Boardwalk and walked with them all around, showing them the lobbies of the various hotels. DH and his 2 brothers own a business that their father started over 45 years ago. They're general contractors specializing in commercial and institutional projects, so we knew that his father would be interested in the buildings and architecture of the resorts.

Although we were early, we had no problem getting a table at the Flying Fish Cafe. I really enjoy this restaurant and was happy to be back. I love the Peeky Toe crab cakes, and almost swooned over the Bananas Napoleon I had for dessert. It was so delicious...I was zoned out....couldn't speak to anyone!! Of course my mouth was full too...lol. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the good wine. We left feeling happy and full.

There was one more place we wanted to drag them to see...Wilderness Lodge. This is DH's favourite, and he really wanted his DF to see it. It is a beautiful resort and we spent at least an hour there while DH and DFIL happily examined the concrete, the wood, the finishing details, etc....!

By now it was getting late and everyone was tired. We drove back to POR so the inlaws could pick up their vehicle. They were staying at a hotel about 20 miles off-site, but DFIL did admit that he would have liked to have stayed at Wilderness Lodge, a BIG admission!!

A nightcap at the POR resort lounge, and we were off to bed! :)

My kind of day - shopping and eating! A relaxing day - thanks for posting!

Thanks for another fascinating trip report! I kind of gasped when I read there wasn't a Bath & Body Works near you ;) . Silly! Hopeful news about your FIL becoming a WDW fan!

I've always thought it would be neat to just take a day and tour the resorts. Sounds like you had fun!

I'm glad you finally got your phone call in!
