A friend told me that I can't bring outside food into the park and that our bags would be searched and any snacks would be taken. I this true?

Can I leave Sea World and go back to my villa (2 miles) for Lunch and then return the same day using the same admission? Would I have to pay for parking again?

Any help much appreciated!

They will search your bags, so nothing in glass or with straws allowed.

They have never turned my husband away at the gate when he brings a small soft sided cooler that has a shoulder strap on it. He has a hard time eating fast foods so sometimes he just opts to carry in a cheese or peanut butter sandwich, fruit, and water. He will eat that while I eat the BBQ etc.
There really isn't any place(picnic tables) for a family to sit and eat a picnic lunch, but bringing in snacks in a back pack and sitting on a bench
somewhere to eat a simple sandwich hasn't been a problem.

You can leave the park and return, but it might turn out to be an ordeal depending on how far you have to drive. Meals are pretty good at SW. You can get burgers and hot dogs if you don't want to spend a lot. Also there is a Wendy's at the stoplight (left turn at stoplight) where International Drive hits the Central Florida Parkway.

So you are allowed to bring soft sided coolers w/drinks and/or snacks? We'd probably eat meals in the park, but it would be nice to bring our own bottled water and snacks for the kids. We plan to bring our own stroller for our 2 year old and can easily tuck a small cooler in the basket below, but I wondered too if it would be allowed. Also, if we did on the offchance decide to bring our own sandwiches and they aren't allowed in the park, how far is the parking lot to the entrance...could you go back and eat at your car?

And why no straws? All those little juice boxes come with straws.

If any of the straws accidently make it into one of the tanks, the animals could be severly injurred by them.

Disney's Animal Kingdom also has this policy.

You can bring in bottled water and snacks but no straws or lids. We always take a small softsided cooler with cans of pop and bottled water and a sippy cup for my daughter. We pack sandwiches, chips and fresh cut up strawberries and melon. We've never had a issue with security. They do search all bags but it's as a safety precaution. All you do is unzip your bags and they will peek inside, nothing to extensive. You will see signs when entering saying no outside food or drinks allowed but they will let you bring stuff. The fruit is very refereshing as you get hot and thristy fast. It cools you down and keeps you very well hydrated. We always take a stroller with us so we can cart around my purse, cooler and anything else that we may need. If you or your kid(s) drink milk be sure to bring it with you, when our daughter was still taking a bottle we didn't pack enough and I had to buy one of those tiny half pints of milk, you know the kind that they give you in the school lunches, it was over $3.00. Packing your own lunches, drinks and snacks is definatly worth the extra effort on your wallet.

OHHHHHHH:idea: Now, I get it. Makes sense. Glad I know so I don't try to bring them in!

We bring in snacks and food every year and generally have juices with straws and they have never taken them (we don't try to hide them either). We are very careful about throwing them out of course.
