No or low fee prepaid Visa cards?

Anyone know where I can get either no or low fee pre-paid Visa cards? I need to get some for my nieces & nephews for Christmas - they are too old now to buy things for. But all the cards I have seen charge a $3-6 charge per card! Anyone know of an alternative? Thanks!!

Nope. Anytime I've looked into them, there was a fee also. I gave them to my office staff one year, but the fees were ridiculous. Since then, I've just switched to giving cash - accepted everywhere, never expires and no fees attached.

I think they all have fees. My favorite is AAA. it has a $4 fee - it is usually waved during December - if you walk in. Also check with your local bank - I have Bank of America - yes there is a fee, but during December they have low fees.

If you have a SIMON Mall near year, they sell the Visa gift cards. If you can provide a business card and tell them they are "corporate gifts" they lower the fee to $1.

I dont know what ISP you use, I have aol. I know they offer a prepaid card, the idea is to get it for your teens so they learn to use one and to be responsible with the money etc..etc.. however I dont see why you couldnt use one. It might be worth looking into at least if you have aol.

Ok sorry I just read the aol cash card deal. There are some limits to it and i dont think that is what you were looking for..lol sorry again. The card holder can only obtain $100.00 at a time from an ATM machine, only $300.00 per week via ATM, the merchant has the right to hold the card for 3 buisness days to varify the card. It is not linked with any checking or savings account, the money is placed on the card and parents can view the spending immediatly online. Great tool for teaching your own teen about finances and discussing the spending thye choose, however this is not like a one time gift to someone elses kid.
It is free for aol member though. So maybe this will help someone. Had i thought of it earlier I think I would have got my 16 yr olds spending money on this rather than the disney dollars i got her.
