No One RSVP'd (long, very long)

To my knowledge, that has never happened at my dd's parties. All of the parties that my daughter has gone to and those she has had, there were specific pick-up times. If one of the girl's parents couldn't pick up, it was their responsibility to share rides with one of the other attendees. All of the invitees go to school with my daughter so she would ask them for sure if they were coming.

My son had a food fight at his 13th birthday party, his first boy/girl party. And guess who started it? Girls! Fortunately, we had a cookout so it was all contained outside and they stayed with just mustard and ketchup. I ended up having to put that away. There was even the cake in the face (including ice cream) but it didn't happen to James, just one of the other boys. They also had a water fight but that was okay since the party was held outside. And it cleaned a couple of them up.;)

Ack! My youngest SD had a food fight at her 14th sleep over party! :earseek: We found M&M's everywhere for about a week. :p

Can any of you imagine dropping off your child at a home where you never met the parents before? Just handing them over for the night to strangers you've never even talked to!?!?!? I would never do that in a million years!

So have the twins gone home yet?? What did their mom say? I think I would have been calling her at work or dropping the kids at their house. That is incredibly rude.

Also when I put RSVP on an invite it is usually followed by:
RSVP by August 30th and don't make me call YOU!!

The party is finally over. :) I asked the twins this morning if they had a key to their house & they said NO. What they failed to tell me until about 5pm was that their older brother was home all day. I took them directly home as soon as I found out. I still have never met the Mom. I don't think we'll have another slumber party for a while. :) & all invitations will no be followed by a phone call. :)

MagicalMom, you deserve a medal!!!

:earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

I can't get my jaw off the floor after reading the rudeness! No RSVP? Hey watch my kids all day even though I don't know you? Smashing cake in your daughter's face?

I'll say it again, you deserve a medal! Wow!

I think I'd have been tempted to drive the girls home myself. At 13, they should be able to stay home themselves during the day.....

My thoughts exactly.

OMG!

We had a sleepover for DD9's birthday in June. We had an outdoor party planned, but it rained. Thankful for carport, but we had water games and relay races and such planned. Threw whole theme of party into a disarray. DD9 a little shy and introverted and this was her first "big" party with 10 girls sleeping over. I requested RSVP - got phone call responses from about half, others DD called to confirm. I hate it when people don't RSVP! I have so many goody bag items left over from years past, just to make sure I have enough, I make all invitees one, then get stuck with extras. They wind up as treats again.

Anyway....a little while into the party, one of the Mom's stands up to leave and says she'll be back in a little while to get her DS who's 5 I think (not in school yet anyway). I was shocked, she didn't ask she just walked to car.

He was well behaved, but totally an unexpected guest. I didn't know the kid except his name. She did come back in a couple of hours, thankfully. Overall that many 9 year old girls did pretty well, except one child that just didn't "respect things". She kept asking if she could have things, going through DD12's room, etc. Just plain old not respectful.

sorry to ramble

Wow, I can't believe that mother just dropped her kids off at your house without having met you, much less leave them for 24 hours without clearing this with you first. Some people don't have common sense or respect for others.

You get the gold star for the day and having those girls clean the mess was the right thing to do. As for that mother...........I feel for her kids.
