No more Webcertificates with mypoints

I e-mailed Mypoints to find out if they were going to have more webcertificates and this is the reply I got back. Looks like the pulled them for now. We had 2 accounts built up to cash out this week! That would have been another $50 to spend on Disney gift cards. I am really bummed out.

Wow that sucks. I like those because I can use them to buy disney gift cards. Maybe if enough people complain they will bring them back. Didn't they get rid of them before as well and bring them back?

Well, crud.
That was the only thing I've ever cashed out for with My Points.
I paid on my 2004 and 2005 with web certificates.

I just cashed in for a Target gift card instead.

I wouldn't give up hope just yet. I asked them the same question about a year ago when Rainforest cards weren't on the site. I got the exact same response as the OP. And Rainforest cards have since come back. I think MP may just say "not a current participant" when they really mean "all sold out and we have no idea when we're getting more." I wouldn't give up hope yet, but that doesn't help if your trip is coming up soon.

I was almost up to another cash out for mypoints.
How long can you keep your money in the webcertificates website???

I think you need to add to it every 3 months or make a purchase every 6 months (or Vice versa).

Wow--It's hard to believe Mypoints would pull WC off their site. I thought alot of people redeem for WC... There goes my christmas plans

I due majority of my shopping thru Mypoints for I can redeem for WC...Looks like Creation Rewards or Freeride will be getting my money..Atleast I can cash out for a check or Visa's


I think I'm going to call just make sure they are removing WC from their site...I am shocked!!

Oh man. I love mypoints and webcertificates. I just paid 100.00 toward my trip on Disneyworld.com with the webcertificates 'Mastercard'. I was going to cash out again. I guess I can wait and hope they bring it back.

Wasn't the Rainforest Cafe thing around the time they were upgrading the website? I remember they upgraded the site and brought back some of the redemption options, but not all of them. They eventually brought most of them back....including Rainforest Cafe and WebCerts.

I use the Webcertificates to pay down my room reservations at Disney. I have 32,000 points pending until the end of the month. I was hoping that I could cash in for about $225 worth of WebCerts....but, I guess that won't happen any time soon. I wish they would have told me last month that they were dropping WebCerts. I would have shopped through another site for all my Dell and Office Depot purchases.

I emailed them as well. I was planning on shopping through them for Christmas. I told them I won't b/c all I want is the webcertificates. Hopefully if we all email them they will put it back on.

I replied that I thought it was unfair to offer a redemption option and then "pull" that option without a 30 day warning of some type. I mentioned that we members have a 30 day waiting period for our points to "clear". I also stated that at the time of my purchases, Webcertificate was a redemption option...but, it was removed as an option before my points from those transactions were available for redemption.

I earned 32,000 points in the past month....with Webcertificate listed as a redemption option. Now that my points are finally becoming available for redemption, my original redemption option has been removed. If they had given a 30 day notice, I would have shopped elsewhere.

Anyway....they responded with another generic e-mail that made no sense to the previous dialogue:

That e-mail was on Sunday....so, I just sent out another e-mail that was a little less strong recommending that they give 30 day notices in the future (if possible) and again asking if there was any chance of WebCertificate coming back as a redemption option. I'll post the generic response back to this thread when I receive it....

I'll continue to bother them for awhile, I guess....lol

I've only ever cashed out for Web Certificates with My Points for the past few years.

I decided to cash out for Target gift cards instead when I heard WC aren't offered anymore.

I was shocked that I cashed out on 11/2. The gift cards were mailed on 11/3.
I received them on 11/6.

I'm not used to service that quick from My Points.

Heck, when I got my web certificates I usually had to wait a full 6 weeks from the date I cashed out until I got the email stating I had my web cert.
I wonder why it took so long for the W.C. but not for the Target gift cards.

I thought it was great My Points shipped my Target cards within days though.

but I found another way to get $$ towards our trip with my points. We have a late flight home after our cruise and have gotten a day room at the Hyatt, so I cashed out for a $25 Hyatt gift card. We can use that for lunch at the hotel or just to pay for part of the room. Guess next time I'll have to use it for Target, but at least this time it will go directly towards our Disney trip.

Hopefully it is temporary. Maybe Mypoints wants to push out their other GC because of expiration dates?

I'm holding off on redeeming too.I really wanted the WC.I was looking forward to buying a Ipod nano (DD christmas present) with my webbies

I will not do any Christams shopping thru Mypoints this year if they don't bring back the WC..I will go thru them for my Office Depot purchase but that's it!

Now if I can only get my remaining Visas from Freeride for the month Oct in time for christmas
