I may be way behind the times, but this is news to me... I just learned today that BWV no longer offers the studio plus room. Our son has been in a crib the past few visits, but for our stay next April, he'll be in a regular bed. I requested the studio plus so he could have the daybed and his sister could sleep in the other bed. I was told by MS that we would indeed be in a studio plus, but our confirmation letter states just "studio." And under the list of requests, it states, "request child sized daybed." When I phoned MS, they said they no longer guarantee the daybed. :(

The resort began listing the "Plus" as a request awhile back. So now, just like any other request, it is not guaranteed.

I'm sure there is some advantage from a scheduling standpoint to do this, but it certainly does modify some travel plans for guests.

Good Luck with your request!

No, BWV is the only one which has this option.

These (Studio Plus) are dedicated studios which have a daybed located where the connecting door is usually found in a lock off studio. The daybed is suitable for a smaller child- size wise.

Thanks for the feedback Doc. At least I know how it's done now and will plan accordingly in the future. Hopefully I'll get the daybed this time since I booked right at the 11 month window.

If you have 5 in your room, do they guarentee it, or would they just put one person on the floor if they don't give you a studio plus? Or, would they just make you book a 2BR for 5 people now? Thanks.

Good questions CaliforniaDreaming! I was planning on booking a family reunion for next August and was counting on those StudioPlus rooms! We won't be able to do it if they no longer allow 5 in the room :( The fourth & fifth in the rooms are kids, but not under 3. That will be a very sad thing!!!!!!

A few years ago, we wanted 2 studio plus units at BWV. Our family had 5 people and our friends had 4, with children of both genders. The front desk would only give a studio plus to us, assigning our friends to a regular studio room. We were told that first priority for a studio plus would always go to families of 5 first, regardless of what someone's reservation said.

I don't know whether they still do this. But perhaps the disappoinment of guests who'd held those plus ressies and couldn't be accommodated led to this change in the reservation paperwork.

Most deluxe resort hotels at WDW have rooms that accommodate 5 adults so it's kind of a shame that the DVC WDW resort studios only sleep 4. It's more like the offsite timeshare resorts, whose studios only have bedding for 4 adults.
