No more Stanby line for A&E?

It's certainly plausible.
But it almost seems too clever.
(I'm such a grump regarding Disney these days.)
One problem with that is that you'd have two queues in Norway if the rumors are true. You'd have the M&G and the ride and even with the timed standby passes, it seems like such a small pavilion could still be overwhelmed.

Now that you have two different times, you have two different windows you can try to match! This is a good thing. A few (or more) times per day, just go into your plans and attempt to change the times on both to overlap with the other. It may take some work, but you just might find a way to match them up eventually!

That's what my current plan is. I've already tried a few times to change both of the times without luck.

I really need my vacation now to destress from the stress of planning this vacation. It won't be the end of the world if I can't get the FP to line up for A&E, but she's so excited about the movie and is even having her birthday party themed from them at the end of August and has been asking frequently if she can meet them - that's why I was hoping the paper return times thing would continue.

Because if someone is leaving October 1 and arriving September 23 then their 60 days window has been open since July 23. And they get to book for their whole trip, not just the date exactly 60 days out.

That's how it favors people staying for long vacations.

Not to nit-pik, but the window for September 23 would open ... July 25th? 26th? Both July and August have 31 days.

I know you can book for length of stay - part of my point is there can't be SO many people arriving in mid-September staying for a week or more booking up all the 7DMT at the end of that month. I mean if people have already posted that availability is limited for the 29th that must mean they've already hit their window. Since the window for people arriving the 29th is (I think) not until July 31 (next Thursday) that means a shocking number of guests arriving well before that and staying an extended period of time, and many of them booking FP+s on that ride on one of their later days.

OK - I think I've confused everyone. But even with F&W I would hope getting those FP+s wouldn't be that hard. For everyone's sake I hope I'm right.

Don't forget that in September, the operating hours aren't as long as they are in the busy periods (Spring Break, Summer, Christmas etc), so there will be less availability. You also have MNSSHP, which reduces the regular opening hours even more for MK for non party guests.
I'll be there early September for a couple of weeks and I couldn't get FP's for A&E right at my 60 day window. Just one of those things :)

How do you book one and copy? How does that work?

You search for just one person in your group, book the available FP+ reservation, then go to the FP+ menu and select copy.

FWIW, the Copy function didn't work for us...it kept pushing us to times much later in the day than I wanted. So I just booked each of our slots individually, with an overlap that covered all four people, to get the time we wanted.

For our party of four, we wound up with one person at 11:40-12:40, one at 12:10 to 1:10, and two of us at 12:20-1:20. So we'll hit the M&G right at 12:20 when the last window opens. It's perfect because we have a 1:10 ADR at CRT. So excited!

Sorry but I haven't read through all the pages in this thread (just 1st page and this last one), but is scheduling FP+ for A&E really difficult?

My 60 day window opens up in 3 days (I think, our arrival date is 9/27) and I'm not sure if I can get A&E FPs. My daughter keeps asking me....but I'm not really sure what to tell her other than I'll try.

So how crazy is it? I'm on Pacific Coast time so I'm willing to stay up/get up early if need be....

The window will open between midnight and 1 a.m. Eastern time. Try for the A&E FP+ reservation on your last MK day, it'll be your best shot at it.

Between the shorter hours of September and the multiple early closings for MNSSHP each week, the FP+ reservations for A&E have been a challenge. Good luck!

Good luck with that. Don't think you're going to go straight to the front of the line at 12:20. There's a line in the FP+ side of things as well.

I highly doubt you'll make the ADR with trying to get in line when you say you're going to get in it. You'll be lucky if you get to the M&G by the time your ADR is supposed to start.

I disagree. The PP will have 50 minutes prior to their ADR that's just around the corner. The vast majority of FP reports are that this takes no more than 15-20 minutes in the FP line. And it's not as if the ADR must be honored at precisely 1:10p either--Disney doesn't operate that way.

Per another thread on the DIS here, apparently the FP+ only was a test... and someone has reported that today there WAS a standby queue again...

Good luck...

The thread I refer to is something along the lines of: Running at rope drop...

Whether there is a standby queue or not has absolutely no bearing on how long it will take to get through the FP+ queue, they're completely separate.

This poster will have no problem getting to see A&E at 12:20 and making a 1:10 ADR. It takes no more than 20 minutes to get through the FP+ queue and in to meet with them (usually it's closer to 10 minutes) and then another few minutes to meet them.

FP+ still is there for A&E. That line should take about 15-20 minutes to get through. The Standby+ was a 3-day test and that you should get through that in about 30-40 minutes. However, if the PP has a FP+, they should be able to get to their ADR no problem.

It took us 9 minutes from entering the line for fp+ to exiting and walking past the castle.

No matter what has been going on the last few days, the FP line has been going the whole time. As you have already seen with the previous posts, waits for that are in the sub-15-minute range and the other poster will not have any trouble getting to their ADR.

I think you mean Standby-!!!

Standby Minus!!!

SB-!!!

(I obviously don't have the absolute authority that I think I should. Just like at home. Bummer.)

For sure. It is Standby+ if you are a usual first hour or two at MK from rope drop kind of person or Standby- is you usually hit the park late morning or in the early afternoon. But judging from Disney's past track record with FP, I think they will go with the "+". :rotfl2:

I'm a total newbie, but my 60 day window was this past Tuesday. I did stay up late and was able to get a FP for A&E, but there were only open spots near the end of my trip. In my very limited experience, I would stay up if you want to score one. Also, ditto the other poster who said to aim for your last MK day.

So my time opened tonight, I logged in at 12:01 and there are no times available for A & E or 7DMT for our first day AT ALL! Our next MK day is 4 days later and there are no a and e left for that day either. Is there any chance times will open up? So frustrating..
