No more Stanby line for A&E?

Those darn facts...always mess up a good story. But I too am interested in how it went down today. Not sure where to search. Probably twitter, but I've stayed away this long surely I can stay away longer.

I have no idea how to search (or use) Twitter, so if you figure it out, let me know.

:teacher:

I was just checking in looking for a report from today, too. I'd love to hear that this new procedure will actually give me an opportunity to see A & E. I shall go brave the Twitterverse, and will report back if I learn anything....

I've google and checked a few sites and read.comments and I got nothin'! I want to say yesterday folks said they were.gone around 2. That actually surprises me a little...would have expected earlier. Not sure how good of a test 3 days will be. I mean I know I have complained in the past about how long the MB test has been going on but there has to be a middle ground b/t 18 months and 3 days.

Am I allowed to post a twitter link here? I'll try...I'm new, so if it doesn't work or if I'm not supposed to, let me know...

I'm hearing they were gone by 11 today. Still, I can deal with that. I will go first thing (though that likely won't be rope drop, since I'm not willing to risk life and limb), and a 30 minute wait doesn't bother me.

Where do you go to get these? Do you have to go by the A&E standby line first or can you just show up at the ticket distribution area? Would think a better strategy would be to head for the ticket line and forgo the hoards heading to the A&E line.

Hmm, interesting concept! A machine that actually gives you a piece of paper with a return time on it. Like an appointment. Your idea is brilliant Plano you should pitch it to Disney!!!!:rotfl:
Naw, it'll never work. ;)

See that's the thing-let it go if it's it UNI, but actually it just died on its own. WDW goes on and on and on-its awesome.

Yea that's the point-they have everyone by the you know whats.

This massive thread is exactly the buzz WDW can so easily create-must just drive the competition insane. :badpc:
Some do say that bad publicity is better than none...

Also that poor horse must be beaten senseless by now.
But then people might lose the paper, and their whole vacation might be ruined. Data stored electronically is never, ever lost. EVER.

Thanks for the update! It looks like the rope drop running of the bulls is back. I thought that FP+ was supposed to get rid of that.

I hit the FP+ jackpot tonight. Maybe I should play the lottery? Being the nosy person I am, I've decided to go to the MK tomorrow and check it out for myself. In the process, I actually got FP+ just now for me, dh and ds for tomorrow morning for A&E.

I'd totes be buying some lotto tickets. That is mighty lucky. Please post back of you have time to let us know your review of the process. I know I'm wanting to know how long you have to stand in line to get the ticket and how quickly they run out. I'm also curious what the earliest return time is. May not be able to tell that one tho.

I will try to find out what I can and take pictures. We're just going for a couple hours.

Why aren't we hearing more about this? The only photo I've seen is the one posted in this thread and then shared elsewhere on the Internet.

I would think there would be a lot more talk about this and a lot more confirmation from people who are there.

Is the touring app still showing standby wait times?

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that a family that was holding FP+ for tomorrow wound up getting a return pass today and canceled their FP .... Which you were then able to scoop up.

I'm interested to hear reports of how people who DON'T get the return passes are reacting to this change. Especially as they "sell out" earlier and earlier.

There are two different pics of the Standby+ passes in this thread.

There are all kinds of sites reporting this "test" happening so I doubt they'd be reporting on it if it was bogus. Sites like Touring Plans and Kenny the Pirate have write ups about it without mentioning it's "rumored" to be happening.

Ok, I've been in the parks the past two days. This is in fact happening and it is "under testing". Here's how it works.

Queue fills up in the morning and return tickets are handed out. Then, around 8-9pm they open it up to standby as usual. Here's a look at tonight's standby queue.

Thanks for the update. First I have read they are.opening back up in the evening.

Are you saying I shouldn't go play the lottery? :confused3 :rotfl:

Since we got the FP+ I won't be taking a standby ticket away from anyone. But I will ask questions and find out how things are going. And how it works.

Maybe we aren't hearing anything back because it's working well?

I was wondering if they were color coded from yesterday to today? I know the tickets for the singalong are color coded by time and have a date written on them. And we did two premium packages and the lanyard for the one was blue and black for the other and the card was dated.

Thanks for the update.

So prior to 8pm, they just turn people away who do not have a ticket or FP+?
