No more Stanby line for A&E?

I'm sure this has been answered before but this thread is really long so I'm just going to ask it again.

For the testing period, does every member of your party have to be there to get the passes when they start handing them out? Or can you send one person ahead?

Someone said that they were able to get passes for their whole party even though they were the only one in line. The CM just asked how many they needed. But it could be different by tomorrow.

I don't think they need another line at MK. They need to put a meet and greet at EPCOT or DHS. Put them back in Norway for a meet and greet, and issue fast passes in the same manner they are testing right now at MK. DHS has plenty of room for a meet and greet. It can be done. This is not as difficult as balancing the national budget!

DHS... Duh! Have they not technically moved into DHS with the Summer Of Fun event? Just include a M&G... Geesh!

Ya know as I read these posts and reflect on it more carefully, and as I re-read my post from 10 pages ago....sorry mesaboy I get it now....I think to myself geez in 1986 there was no FP- or FP+ what the hell did I do as a 9 year old???? OH I WAITED ONLINE sorry I forgot. and there was only 2 parks back then and many less resorts I guess it was just a different time anyway.....

Yeah, somebody always goes there. The parks were far less crowded and less costly in those days (among other vast differences), I'd love to get in a time machine and visit Disney in the 70s or 80s again.

If you have reservations at Crystal Palace early a.m., can't one dash over to Princess Hall, secure fastpasses, come back for breakfast, and just wait for their Fastpass time to come up?

Hah! You won't believe it, but a lady burned me with her cigarette at that exact spot in '74 when she ran up to grab her small kid who was leaning way over the railing to check out the water. I hadn't thought of that in years - though I still have the scar - physical scar, not the mental one from now remembering tube socks and men's OP short shorts and ABBA t-shirts...

Did that small kid have a KISS shirt on?

There are no more FP its all done via a smartphone or kiosks. IF you mean the stand by passes (not FP) no they don't start handing them out till they need them.

Also unless its EMH you won't be able to Get to The hall anyway.

I'm hoping they can find the answer to getting rid of the insane queues cause let's face it.....they are waaaay out of control. Surely that's something everyone can agree on.

They know the magic formula, they did it with Dumbo. It's just simple supply and demand. Tremendous demand and limited supply. You have 2 options, reduce demand or increase supply. Everything else is a workaround. I know they have their reasons for not increasing supply but that is still the answer. I'm sure someone isn't happy that they spent all this money on infrastructure designed to get people out of lines and they turned around and created 2 more 60+ minute lines. Once again A&E proves FP doesn't solve capacity issues :teacher:

It's really just TSMM 2.0, early bird gets the worm. Sleepy birds eat dirt.

They also knew the magic answer with Rapunzel and Flynn. They removed Flynn.

I'm betting the A/E line would die down substantially if they removed Elsa. ;) :scared1:

I'm really going to caution anyone against making any sort of strategic plans based on how Disney is running this test. If/when the new system is implemented, it likely won't look much like how things are currently done.

Did you make a FP+ reservation for A&E that day already?

Or I wonder if this "test" might never end, like the FP+ "test."

Will be interesting to watch. I just want the links worked out before 12/1.

good point! That would definitely reduce demand. Although, I think Anna is the cool one just MHO.

Honestly I hope they still have it in place in Dec. When we decided to move offsite I let my girls know we probably wouldn't see A&E. At least with the return of legacy FP we have a chance if we get there early enough. Our SB threshold is about 30 mins anyway. Maybe 45 for Anna.

Don't get me wrong, I totally believe that Disney is implementing this system. I just don't think there's much concrete data to be gleaned from this test to start thinking strategy. They will give out return tickets for A&E (IMHO). Beyond that, the particulars feel very murky.
