I think they just don't want people in line because of managing the lines or not spending. Or maybe it is some sort of offering for certain customers who didn't get to preplan.

Just read somewhere else that the reason they are testing this is because there are some customers who don't have smartphones and can't figure out the kiosks and they want to have something to give them that doesn't involve those things, to help them with their waits too. /faceplant-on-desk

OMG, I would be so happy if this were actually true. Because what were we "FP+ haters" saying way back when...NOT EVERYONE HAS A SMARTPHONE. NOT EVERYONE WANTS TO BE TIED TO A GADGET ALL DAY WHILE ON VACATION. I'm sorry if Disney's market research was wrong...but it defied common sense.


As for whether or not doing this makes sense...I think it does, for something with unprecedented popularity like the Frozen sisters. I do think that they should scan a MB and make sure someone doesn't already have a FP+ for the M&G that day before handing them out, because I do think it's sucky that some people would take a slot away from someone else who wasn't lucky enough to grab one up. And I say that as someone who has FP+s for all four people in our party at a pretty primo time.

Has anyone seen the Times Guide for the week? I wonder what it says about this...

I don't know exactly, but it isn't stone and mortar--much to the dismay of one poster several years ago who thought the castle wasn't real enough because of the building materials. Now that was an entertaining thread.
