No more Stanby line for A&E?

This has absolutely nothing to do w casting. Rumors. There are thousands of beautiful women clamoring for these spots and I'm sure more than 3 of them would look gorgeous in the dress and wig. This is simply Disney making a strategic decision. They started w just a handful of A&E slots in 1 M&G room, and now they're running multiples. And they have varying shifts, so they want to get the right number of people employed for this... not hire up in a frenzy, build excessively, and then when the Frozen fever dies down have to lay them all off and tear down.

You now have two ways to see them... midnight 60 days in advance, plus day-of run at rope drop.

Yeah, I know it isn't about casting. If you read my two posts you would've directed your comment at the other people blaming it all on casting. I think the casting rumors are ridiculous.

I wonder what the going rate would be for one of those slips. I can picture it now..... a man in a trench coat hanging out in the summer Florida heat........ lurking around Fantasyland ......... "Pssssst..... how bad do you want to see Anna and Elsa?"
Oooohhh....and how about this. We can start some kind of online club, where we can arrange for people to go into the park and secure coveted 'A&E Return to Standby Line' tickets, which can be shared with members of the club!!!! If that doesn't sound like an angelic idea I don't know what does......

Yes... reread. I read your post including the post you were quoting, but then my quote only quoted your part. That makes my reply more in reply to the person you were quoting as well. I'm sorry for implying you held that view when you were to the contrary!!

???

And where does Disney advertise this very limited availability in it's advertising? .

Based on the ads-

The park is pretty much empty with the characters just wandering the parks, and my little girl can just run up the to the castle and hug her favorite princess/mouse/duck who is waiting just for her to arrive.

I can just walk up to 7DMT with my family all wearing sunglasses on looking cool, get right in and love the experience.

That is what Disney appears to be selling.

A&E are showing up on the touring plans app with a posted 95 min wait. It looks like there was nothing special done with the standby line today.

Hmm...imagine that. Unfortunately, we will still be hearing complaints about this "new policy" for days.

I think that's a bit harsh. My kids are too young to be that into Anna and Elsa but I know so many little girls that love Frozen and meeting their favorite characters would mean a lot to them. I wouldn't roll my eyes at a 5 year old crying because she can't meet Elsa. I might use it as an opportunity to talk about how you can't always get what you want but at the same time I'd be very sympathetic because it is a disappointment to them and they are still learning how to deal with emotions like that. It might be silly to a grown up but to them it's actually very important.

Also I don't think meeting a character at Disney should have the same chances as winning the lottery. I'm not sure how I feel about the new system but I do feel bad for any kid that is sad that they can't meet Anna or Elsa.

Well said. I have a very dramatic four year old. This morning she cried because she didn't get to feed the dog. I didn't promise her she could feed the dog. She doesn't feed the dog regularly. She asked after the dog had already been fed. :confused3: We are working on this, but she is just way more prone to this than my oldest.

So even though I won't promise her A & E, if she sees pictures or hears people talking about it she may decide she wants to meet them and get upset if we have to tell her no. (Heck when we go to Akershus, she may start asking then because she's the kind of kid to figure out if some of the princesses are at Disney, the rest of them might be too.) Will it ruin our trip if we don't meet A & E? No. But will her disappointment be real? Yes. Will she cry if she is disappointed? Yes.

Our trip isn't until Dec., so I'll be reading along to see how A & E continue to shake out over the next few months.

I contributed to the dis counts, but am steadfastly not going to the blog post. ;)

So what happens to all the people who have their day planned and locked in like WDW wants you to and you rush to the FP distrubtion for A&E and the little slip conflicts with an ADR or another FP at a different part of the park. Will they give you another time that doesnt conlfict? Is that person going to waste time in the morning to stand in this new FP distibution line only to be denied a time bc they locked other stuff in like WDW encouraged them to do? If the time did not work before with your ADR and other FPs you had the option of the standby line, even if it was quite long, you had a choice at least.

Pretty much. It is now 10am est. Nothing on FB, Twitter, Touring Plans, or the Dis about anything changing. What a shock considering the source. /s

But seriously. I just do not see this happening. Maybe for a meet and greet, but not for other attractions.

Through this whole transition process, I've felt strongly that what Disney ultimately wants is to get people on and off rides. The number of attractions people get to experience effects their overall satisfaction, and if they are waiting in lines they are not in the shops or restaurants spending money. I think it's a great idea for Anna and Elsa. If they are testing it for other attractions, I see it being a benefit during extremely busy times. It will r interesting to see if they do this, and how it works.

Can we expect another 'I can't handle the pressure' blog post from TT if it's true she's wrong?!

I'm expecting silence. Disney is so tight lipped when it comes to numbers, I just can't believe those figures would be made available to her, even with her CM connection. But, if it's on the internet, it must be true......

If TT does have a daughter who works as a CM in the MK, and if she keeps releasing little tidbits of information, then it won't be long before the daughter is an ex-CM.
