No more room service.......ever?

I used in room dining at yacht club in January and March. All the food was packaged in to go containers. The room service CM did not enter the room. CM kept the rolling table between the two of us at the door. There was no in room dining at BWV in March though, but I think that was due to the resort side not being open yet.
Same with us. We got room service the Yacht club last month.

As the OP said, "take it with a grain of salt." I would put information from UBER driver just below Disney bus driver.:drive::car:

as I said Uber driver works for Disney formerly in room service management.
she implied that the cutting of room service was for everyone except the high value resorts.

Only the "high valued" resorts had room service to begin with. The only other option was pizza delivery. I wouldn't consider that room service.

I think we will likely see it changed to in room delivery from the TS and/or CS locations. This is essentially what a lot of non Disney hotels do and it makes the most sense.

A CM working in the custodial dept at Epcot told me, during a visit in Jan, that Remy was opening mid March. I believed folks. I believed. You can probably trace my steps where I shared that wisdom here on the boards. I now trust no one.

We are stay at Yacht Club right now and received a message on our room phone Sat that said all in room dining was ending as of Sunday but to go from Ale and Compass was still available

Oooh, interesting.

There goes my September reservation. We love the Yacht Club because of the room service. If that’s gone, we will stay at the Swan/Dolphin for 1/4 the price. How many amenities is Disney going to cut under the guise of COVID. Ridiculous!

I have ordered room service at both POFQ and Carribean. They have pizza, chicken tenders sandwiches and a pasta dish. It was a limited menu but can be found still with a quick google. they also had wine beer and soda options. I ordered because I had a migraine the first time and got pizza and salad. In 2019 my feet were killing me so ordered pasta and salad and wine...food was good and very generous portions. If Ubereats is delivering straight to the room may eliminate the need for the service...

So wasn’t sure if I should post this or not so take it with a grain of salt. One of my Uber drivers also works for Disney in room service. (She now works elsewhere in the park). She said she doesn’t believe disney is ever bringing back room service. She said that prior to the pandemic Disney was looking at ways to cut room service (maybe just at value resorts) then during the pandemic all room service workers were either laid off or put elsewhere and then months later told their position would not be coming back. She worked in room service management and said according to cdc guidelines they could have done room service during the pandemic by leaving it outside the door. She said she believes the pandemic gave Disney the where with all to cut room service all together and she has heard it isn’t coming back to the resorts that cut it during the pandemic.
I did not know that value resorts ever had room service. Like you said take this with a grain of salt. Room Service is expected at Deluxe resorts because that is one of the amenities. I know that we love to have breakfast in the room and really missed it on our last several stays.
IMO, it will be back when all the deluxe resorts are open and there are no restrictions.

Is room service currently available at the Beach Club?

I think the GF is still the only one offering room service to both regular rooms and the villas.

Anyway, it was available when we were there just before Thanksgiving.

I've seen speculation that Disney is pushing mobile order instead, which wouldn't surprise me but certainly isn't as easy or convenient as room service.

This really sucks. The Twilight Feast at Polynesian was one of favorites Disney meals, and we thought a great value.
