No more pin trading at TDS

did anyone else hear this?

Tonight, when I took my son to TDS in Lancaster, PA, the manager said they were told that they will not be trading pins there or at any Disney Store. Does anyone know why?

Another cutback?

Hmm... This is news to me. I will have to check it out at our local DS... Have only gone a few times in the past but have always had fun...

I haven't heard anything about this. We have several CMs on here who are pin traders and I'm sure one of them will confirm or deny.

I don't think it would be a monetary cutback. Does it actually cost any extra labor to do the trading? They just have the CMs on duty wear the lanyards. If anything, it would be because of a lack of interest in trading in the stores. I know trading at the stores here on Tuesday nights is pretty much nonexistant.

I'm sure I would have heard from the Chicago Ridge IL store if they were discontinuing our monthly pin trading Tuesday meets. I think it might be up to the regional/district manager. I know the Orland Park store does not do pin trading. In fact, they no longer carry pins and that's because of the district mgr.

Is your DS one of the new concept stores? Those are the stores which seem to be doing away with pins and trading.

I haven't heard this, I will be at our Disney Store tonight, so I will try to find out, and post tomorrow!

I have not heard this, but won't be working until later this week. We rarely get traders to come in on Tuesday nights. I am not scheduled too often on Tuesdays, but wear my own laynard when I work.

I will check this out and get backt o you if i get an answer.

I just wanted to apologize to Disneytim for the misunderstanding. I am a CM at the Lancaster TDS and we are not discontinuing the pin trading. There was some confusion about the new pins coming out. Never fear pin trading is still here

Thanks for your post. My sons are so happy. I called the store tonight and asked for you to thank you.

They confirmed, as you stated, they are trading pins. I was told someone didn't read the whole memo regarding new pins being traded.

I was surprised last night when they said they weren't trading.
It really did seem strange and undisney-like.

Thanks for responding and taking care of this. You are a great CM. You are truly deserving of a WWWD? pin.

Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm so glad your sons are happy about the good news. It makes my day when I can give someone a smile. I guess that sounds corny, but it really does make me feel good.
