Is this true.. Someone on another board posted that Universal gave guests a slip with this info upon entering the resort:
Welcome to Universal Orlando!

For your safety, we have increased our security procedures and ask for your understanding and cooperation.

Coolers are not permitted in the parks.
No outside food or drinks may be brought in.

All bags, backpacks or packages will be inspected prior to entering our Parks.
We recommend you leave unnecessary articles in your car and secure valuables in your trunk.
The following items are not permittedin any Universal Orlando Resort: any type of weapon, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, large duffle bags, folding chairs and large umbrellas.

Thank you for your cooperation! Please enjoy your visit.

I think we've done alright so far with no deaths by peanut butter & jelly sandwich or a Capri Sun, as far as I know.

Is this really being enforced?

dont know if it will be enforced, but if it means half the people will think twice about doing it, it means more money for universal.

My problem with this is my picky kids. One is a diabetic (as am I) and the other is just really, really picky. The only carb-free caffiene free drink available at the parks is water. Neither of my boys will drink it EVER, so I have to bring bottles of Propel or G2 in my bag for them wherever we go. The only foods my 2/yo will eat are a few certain crackers and chicken nuggets. I always have to pack food for him, or he'll drive everyone crazy with screaming fits when he gets ornery from hunger. I hope they're just talking about people trying to bring coolers with enough food and drinks to last the entire day. They even encourage moms in their travel tips section or the website to bring snacks and drinks for little ones. I hope that hasn't changed!

I believe I saw this on a sign at the bag check station when I was there last week:

Coolers are not permitted in the parks.
No outside food or drinks may be brought in.

However the guards didn't say a word about my bottle of water in my backpack when they were checking it.

Just yesterday I walked in with a McDonald's bag that had 2 cheeseburgers in it, McDonald's soda (half full) and my wife had a water bottle, nothing was said at any point in the entry process

Remember to bring snacks such as fruit, raisins, crackers, or small containers of dry cereal for the little ones to munch on when they get hungry or cranky
• Backpacks and shoulder bags. A small, soft-sided bag is always handy to have with you when exploring the parks. Please be advised that your bag will be inspected by Security before you enter the theme parks, and you may have to check it in a rental locker before boarding certain thrill rides and roller coasters. We recommend that you pack only basic essentials and leave valuable items at home or in your hotel safe.

PLEASE NOTE: Coolers are not permitted in either theme park.

This what they have on universal site and just like Mike said I have walked in with fast food and even had bottle soda in small back pack and they never said anything and I think what it is they just don't want you to bring in coolers full of food and if you think about it they would loose alot of buisness if they allow the coolers :thumbsup2

This was not enforced in January. We had a backpack full of water and snacks and it was not an issue.

Rolling ice chest/coolers are not supposed to be brought in. I haven't seen anyone turned away that just had snacks in their backpacks.

We were just there 5/1,5/2 and 5/3 both parks never were we bothered about the HRH water bottles we brought in or cookies in my bag. I know they looked but nothing was ever said . I think if you are bringing in huge amounts of food and BEER then maybe they will turn you away but other then that I doubt it .

:sad1: I wanna go back ... HRH Club was the best :thumbsup2 Ok returning in 2010 but still so long from now .
