How does this rumour affect everybody?.....I know that the discontinuation of non-expiry tickets will definitely have a bearing on whether we go to Disney or visit another Theme Park. I will be hoarding our current non-expiry tickets and will only use them for a very special visit!.....I can't help thinking that this is another ploy by Disney to encourage visitors to stay on Disney property and stay in a Disney owned Resort!.....Sorry, it won't be happening for this family, we enjoy our off-site accommodations way too much to pay more $$ for less space and villa amenities!....and then there is the cost and decreasing quality of Disney food! :sad2::sad2::sad2:

I thought I saw something today that said you can add the No Expiration option to your tickets, but obviously, this would be an extra cost. For me personally, we plan to go to the parks every day we are there, even if just for a few hours in the evening because we've been doing things outside the parks that day. So I don't think we'd ever have unused days by the end of the trip anyway.

I can certainly see how this would affect those who don't go every day though. Could you not purchase tickets for one or two days less than the length of time you are there so that none are wasted?

The price increase and discontinuation of the non-expiry tickets is mentioned in the Saturday January 24, 2015 issue of the Orlando Weekly. The benefit of paying the extra $$ and purchasing a non-expiry ticket was that you could use it on your next visit, which was a terrific perk for anyone who chose to stay off-site or did not care to purchase a MYW ticket. Apparently this will no longer be possible after mid-February when the rumoured next price increase takes place.

I'm gonna miss the NE tickets ... We are DVC, but only go down once a year usually, so APs aren't worth it. Also, we average 3 park days per trip with some water park and offsite days thrown in.

Kicking myself for not stocking up when the $ was at par ... with the current exchange rate, I won't be trying to stockpile any now!

Not really going to affect us much. We are still working through our last set of 10D WPFAM NE tickets that are only half-used after 2 trips. I expect we'll still have some visits left after our trip this March.

They made sense when it was 100% Disney, but we actually do more offsite now than on, and the kids prefer the rides at USF/IOA over Disney. With us only doing a couple of parks and a couple of WPFAM admissions each trip, it is a bigger upfront cost for a ticket that will last us about 8-10 years (4-5 trips).

Once these ones are done, we are definitely going back buying tickets for the trip only anyway. I may lose some savings in the long run, and Disney will probably lose even more of my business as we weigh which parks are worth the cost...
