We are heading to DL in November and are planning to take our kids (age 7, 10, and 12) to the Blue Bayou for lunch for the first time! I ate there once as a kid but that was 30 years ago I was reading yelp reviews and someone there mentioned the Monte Cristo is no longer served there? But on Disneyland's website they still show it on the lunch menu. That said, I know Disney is slow to update their website. Which is true?

The reports I have read on here recently have said it is no longer on the menu BUT you can still order it at lunch time. Hopefully someone that has been there in the last couple of weeks will see this and give a first hand update.

I was there 3 weeks ago for lunch. It's not on the menu but I was able to order it with no problem. It must be a common thing because when the server offered to take our order I just said, "I'll have the Monte Cristo" and she said ok, just as if it was actually on the menu. Not even a question.

Wasn't too happy about the all day menu, though. What used to be the dinner menu is now all day. So I paid $35 for a chicken breast for my 16 year-old who barely touched it.

Just went on July 1st for lunch and go it...
They also have it in DTD.
I was actually a bit sad because all I could taste was fried dough. I could feel the texture of the ham and cheese but couldn't taste it so it became a bit sickening to just eat all that sweetness so I didn't finish it.
I opted to get the ham and cheese sandwich at BOG last week and it was a true Monte Cristo on grilled french toast and it was amazing. Sweet but you could taste the meat and cheese.

I had a similar experience. I get the Monte Cristo every time but last time I had it (August) it just wasn't as good. There was so much breading the texture was off and it didn't even seem cooked all the way through ... it was a little soggy in the middle.

I got it at BB years ago and it was so nasty (cold, smashed, greasy, coagulated cheese) that I didn't get it again for more than 15 years.
Then my wife got it at Cafe Orleans on our last trip and it was quite good.
So I guess there are times when it's better than other times.

Let me correct.... You paid $10 for a chicken breast plus $25 to eat in a restaurant that had a Disneyland ride running through it.... :)
Sort of like the time I paid $60 for my 11 year old daughter to eat chicken nuggets in Cinderella Castle. It did help when I decided I paid $10 for nuggets, and $10 a head to meet 5 princesses. :p

At least she ate the nuggets though. ;)

This made my heart skip a beat for just a second. :)
