The CMs at DRC aren't told to say have a magical day. But the CMs at the resort call center, which answers calls to resort front desks and the switchboards, typically do.
OP - you and I must get the same CMs! All of them friendly, but in all my calls, I've only gotten one "Have a Magical Day". I'd been waiting for it and it totally made my day! Haven't gotten it again, but next time I may beat them to it and say it to the CM!
I guess I'm lucky. I've called a couple of times, and every time I got the "have a magical day" at the end of the call. I think it really makes the call special, and is just one of those little things that sets Disney apart from everyone else.
I have called several times over the past year and I have only got Have a Magical Day one time. I was so use to them not saying that when they finally said it I was shocked. I wish they would say it every time! I miss it! My sister has made several calls latley to plan her last minute trip with the last call being yesterday and she says she has not got one Have a Magical Day either and was wondering why they stopped doing this. It only takes a second , doesnt cost the company any extra money. Anyway , did you guys know if you call our local Chuckee Cheese (not magical at all!) at the end of their recording it says Have a Magical Day! What a joke.
Okay so this week I had traditions and all my training and "have a magical day" is not something in any of our learning material. I guess some people just do it but it's not something to be expected. I work front desk so I would probably say it at the end of check-in (or "have a magical stay") but they never even mentioned it during training.
I remember the saying use to be "Have a DISNEY day". Then a couple years ago I said that to a CM and he said they changed it to "MAGICAL" because saying DISNEY was an inside joke meaning a curse word. ºOº
