I just picked up our travel documents from the TA and there is a small note in with them that reads:
" We anticipate the Disneyland park will be extremely popular during your visit because of the celebration. For any day that your party wishes to visit Disneyland park, we strongly recommend that your party plan to arrive early and remain for the entire day."
My TA spoke with a CM in WD Travel and they have stopped guaranteed entrance for resort guests. I really wish I had known this before we booked. It wouldn't have changed my mind about staying at the GC, but it would have been good to know.:crazy2:
FYI we will be there 7/25-7/27 so it's not just the week of the anniversary!

Technically there has never been guarenteed entry for anyone. Once the Fire Marshall says noone else can enter NOONE else can enter, not even Walt Disney would be allowed entry.

As for not getting into the park, since you are not going on the anniversary or other holiday time, I would not worry too much about not getting in or being able to reenter if you leave.

Wow! To me this has always been a big perc of staying on-site. I thought that in order to get around Fire Codes, Disney actually closed the parks before they reached true capacity, so that they could have some "wiggle room" to allow on-site guests in (maybe using previous attendance estimates to help them determine when to "close the park"). I can't understand why they can't do this to some extent. But the fear of reaching capacity is why, when I go 7/21-24, I'm planning on taking rests in the park.

If DISNEY closes the gates then yes it is likely at a number lower then true capacity. And of course they can at their own disgretion allow more entry.

But if the FIRE MARSHALL closes the gate then that is it, no more entry. PERIOD.

As far as leaving & returning if you are going to DCA use the GC entrance & you shouldn't have a problem, if you do want to leave just ask a CM @ the exit if reentry will be a problem, generally it isn'ti

In the past Disney has closed the gates long before they hit fire code limits.

I wouldn't worry too much about that disclaimer, that is all it is. IF it happened that they reached fire code limits and some resort guests got turned away it gives them law suit protection (not really, but that is why it is there).

:earsboy:
The day I would seriously worry about is the 17th. They will be opening the plaza for people to line up for DLR at 6:30am. WD Travel and the DLH both told me they will most likely being closing the park due to capacity by 10am. There will be NO guaranteed re-enty. And there is no quaranteed entry for Disney Resort Hotel quests either on that day.

Have a great Disney Day! pirate:

They are telling the CMs that there is guarenteed re entry to Disneyland on the 17th. Don't know how true it is, but that is one of the answers in the list of questions about the 17th they have given to CMs. Also I think if you go to DL then DCA then try to get back into DCA you will not have guaranteed re entry. Also there is no guarenteed entry for resort hotel guests, but they are supposedly going to give them priority (don't know what this means)

Also the "treats" given to guests on that day will be given out at both DL and DCA, so if you don't get in DL you can still get them at DCA. They are also supposed to have big screens in different locations around both parks so people can see what is going on. Not sure if this is only for the morning festivities/announcements or if it is for the whole day.

Do you know if you can take the monorail into the park on the 17? If so, where do you get your treats if we enter the park in Tomorrowland?
