No More Fastpass for Parades and Fireworks?

FYI......

Because of the popularity of the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom Park, we are expanding the experience starting April 19 so that more Guests will be able to enjoy it. Same-day reservations will be available.

All Guests attending the fireworks dessert party will enjoy a variety of themed desserts at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant as they do today. Then, Guests with same-day reservations move to the Plaza Garden area for the fireworks show, while Guests who have booked in advance will view the fireworks from the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant.

Pricing is $59 for adults and $35 for children, tax inclusive. Reservations for the Tomorrowland Terrace viewing location can be made in advance by visiting DisneyWorld.com/dine, or calling 407-WDW-DINE. Same-day reservations are available at the Tomorrowland Terrace podium starting at 10:30am each day.

Gee how thoughtful of them! Looking out for us and expanding the dessert party! lol. Does the rose garden still exist? why not expand there?

...Well to each his own on the value having FP for wishes and parades but as for your comment, the area is still going to be blocked off. Before it was free for any with a FP now you pay $70 for dessert for access. The fastpass for parades was in the circle where the flagpole is ..so not a spot to "constantly run into"
Well, I guess I don't have an opinion on this then. Lol

I sent feedback to guest services on loss of these fastpasses and how I feel about it and the diffence it made/added to last trip. They called and said this change and fastpass options are currently being reviewed and she would pass on the feedback. If you care you might do the same!

Personally unless I was a local I don't see the appeal of these fastpasses. I'd much rather use them for a ride instead of waiting two hours. I can get a good spot for a parade or fireworks 30 minutes before it starts no problem.

We used the a FP for the parade last year and it was great with a little one. I did not have to worry about her being blocked or people pushing her around to see. I am not sure I would do it often but the option was nice to have.

..Not to mention if you use a touring plan app you can do the rides without the FP. I found this hard to believe but We followed the app for touringplan .com and it worked great in MK. We still used our other passes for high crowd attractions but I didnt feel like using a FP for parade or show impacted our ability to get all done we wanted. This
surprised me!

Just wanted to note that the new FP area for the fireworks seems to be the new wedding venue they were advertising. So they found one way to justify the construction.

I'm personally sad about this, because it was nice to have a low crowd way to watch parades with a baby/toddler.

Those who seem to think it's not a big deal, probably don't have small children. It was so nice after a long hot day to have an unencumbered view of the fireworks with my boys and just getting to relax. I can't imagine it would have been fun being squished next to a bunch of other hot sweaty people and the boys wouldn't have even been able to see very well. I, for one, am sad this is going away. It was one of my favorite memories from our trip.

You could look at it that way. Or you could just look at it as they rebuilt the hub to provide more viewing space.

and then instead of 1 annoying tree, they added 10 annoying trees.. you can't view from much of the new space anymore...
