To give an idea of what doesn't stay in pockets, just look up at the net that protects you from all the flying stuff at Hulk. Three years in a row we've see all different sizes/kinds of stuff sitting in the net over the walkway (glasses, water bottles, etc.) Think how many people walking on that walkway would be hurt by flying stuff if that net wasn't there....but it only covers one small part of the ride track. Another good place to see all the loose items that got away? At the bridge that crosses over the end of Ripsaw Falls, look down where the boats go under the bridge..all kinds of stuff swirling in the water (shoes, hats, water bottles, etc). At MIB, during our recent July stay especially, our cars stopped on several different occassions because somebody's something somewhere fell onto the track. Last year, we were stuck in front of the "too bad you won't remember it" flash......over and over for a good 15 min. because something was on the track. There's a good reason not to try getting away by jamming all your loose stuff in pockets....it does not stay put with all the spinning, and in the case of Hulk, etc. turning upside down. We never found the lockers difficult to operate, crowded yes. I think it's great that US offers free use of these while you're on a ride...and they're really close by to the ride.
