How about we all agree to stray from the negativity talk/post for the next 48 hours. I have been a DIS junkie for 3 years and have spent 100's of hours on this board, but man o man - whats in the water these days that is causing all of this negativity?

This is broken, this is dirty, this went up in cost, this bathroom was dirty, Splash Mtn is 101% working...geeeeesh. Enough already!! Stay home and go to 6 Flags already!!

There - I feel much much better now....but seriously....enough is enough Mr. and Mrs. Negative Ninnys. :confused3

I just recently came back to the boards to plan our next trip so i can't say i really even know what your referring to...however, why do you read them? If Disney is starting to cut corners and their once loyal vacationers are not happy then of course there will be complaints. Rightfully so.

When I get the blues about negativity, I go to WDW and ride my favorite ride, Mr. Toa....

Hang on a minute, I don't think I am helping.

:)

I'll join you, starting right NOW.

I have been depressing myself....

Here's a start! Do you know where my favorite place on earth is?

It's Walt Disney World! pixiedust:

It really is my happy place, and I have met so many wonderful people and cast members there. I am grateful to all the people who give so much to make it a special place.

How about we all agree to stray from the negativity talk/post for the next 48 hours . . .

1) Should we all drink the Kool-Aid ?
2) I think the negativity is not negativity.
3) I think that it is a telling of truth.
4) When going to Disney, one would want to know the good and the bad.
5) This is how one makes decisions
. . . for rides
. . . for parks
. . . for dining
. . . for activities
. . . for resorts
6) Knowledge is a powerful tool.

7) Without the knowledge,
. . . guests might stay at the expensive GF and not know about the construction
. . . guests might expect the favorite Toon Town rides and not know of FLE
. . . guests might go to Epcot and not know of the closed rehab rides
. . . guests might expect their favorite food and not know that "X" eatery doesn't do it well
. . . etc
. . . etc

If you're really, really tired of reading all of the negative threads, then stop reading them. Simple.

~LOL. Maybe, you should take a little sabbatical from the boards for 48 hours and you will feel a little better. I agree with you that there is a lot more negativity now, but there is plenty of positive info as well. :goodvibes

Just think if this was a place to discuss Six Flags - you'd be suicidal :rotfl:

I look at it this way. Disney is my happy place. The positives outweigh the negatives for me so I don't let the negs get me down.

But you have to admit, the 'negative posts' as you (the OP) likes to call them can be very entertaining. Its like listening to your grandfather .... "I remember when..." And I mean that in the nicest way .... I love my Disboard friends :teeth: :goodvibes

When statements like this occur, I can't help thinking that someone is being negative about other people being negative. It's this crazy cycle.

Anyway, I have been gone for 2 days approximately and see the Napkin thread is on the first page still. :) I've just decided to stop reading it.

Isn't calling other folks "Negative Ninnys" a bit negative...and insulting?

To some ppl its opinion and in many cases does help others in their planning. I am grateful to know if a ride I planned to try is down or if the time of year tends to draw groups and how that will affect my touring.

I always wonder how scolding others makes for a productive welcoming atmosphere as well. For me, it also makes me not want to post if I have a less them chipper concern. I want to feel welcome to ask or share my feelings, happy, sad or indifferent. Unless its a board rule, Im thinking ppl will still want to post their opinions.

It might be that we go so often to Disney that we are now seeing behind the curtain.

Our family thinks that Disney seems to be all about profit now and less about the Guest experience. We also own several DVC contracts and have learned that once you buy, Disney doesn't bother to treat you the same.

It's hard to not be negative when you now the truth and the truth sometimes hurts us Disney and Walt lovers.

:earsboy: Bill

Honestly, the good comes with the bad. Disney is going to do some popular things and some not so popular things-

Personally, I hope that someone from Disney reads the boards- this is such a wealth of info- what people like, dislike, want and can do without. I believe this is really a powerful tool and I hope someone is reviewing this

OP- I hope you find lots of happy threads :lovestruc

This is after all, a discussion board. If we didn't have anything critical to say, would it really be a discussion? If you don't like reading criticism about Disney, stick to disney.com.
