No more Disney Dollars??

Last year we were still able to find Disney Dollars, but a cast member at the Disney store says they are discontinued. Has anyone else heard this? We used to love getting them before our trip. : (

I got them at the Disney Store in downtown Chicago.

I can't imagine that they're discontinuing them all together... they've been around foe quite while and I'd hate to see them go.

I saw someone buy them at the Fort Wilderness Outpost last week.

I too have heard that they are doing away with the dollar itself and you will only be able the get them in gift card form.

I was told at our local disney store that they will no longer be selling them but that they will always offer them in the parks. If someone talks to a CM to confirm, please let us know! I too will be disappointed. A gift card is not the same for kids. Its good for them to be able to hold it and count it themselves. I dont like setting them up for the "credit card" feel at that young of an age.

I was told the same thing - they will only be available at the Parks/Resorts - when I tried to get Disney Dollars for the kids' stockings. I don't see what the point is getting them only at Disney World. I liked being able to let the kids earn them throughout the year. I agree a gift card is not nearly the same. Oh well

Thanks for all of the responses... I am a little sad now, but at least we can still get them at the parks. But like someone else said, my family loved accumulating them throughout the year.

For our upcoming trip we just bought the boys gift cards. They love it. They think they have a real credit card.

I was so disappointed when we went to the Disney store and they told us they no longer sell the Disney Dollars. They are only sold at Disney World. I used to buy a bunch and give them to my kids for easter, birthdays, valentines day, christmas.
